I'm having an utterly impossible time trying to find those reactions on my phone, keeps crashing.
Gonna stop before it ruins my mood lol
That's so exciting though dude!
:icouldjusteatyou:
That'll do I guess

Fuck, tell me about it. Whenever it crashes on mine, all the shroomery tabs I have open at the time crash as well. Drives you nuts. Sometimes it takes 5 tries to get it not to crash and even then, not all the reactions show. They need to split them in 3 or something, all those gifs are too much for my TV box's browser

Marked my jars today. The most colonized set is from 5/10, second set from 5/20. My first home made syringes off a print I took last time off some sexy Golden Teacher.

A lot have already colonized completely. I still have some areas that need to finish but they're tiny. One more week or so for good measure.

^ Not bad for 2 weeks in.

Also,

Not pictured are a few dozen pasty plates. Have GT, B+, F+ and KSS going for Psilocybe cubensis.

Made up a set of Psilocybe cyanescens for outdoor spawning and an indoor experiment.

Made another set of plates with mixed-bag Psilocybe allenii, Psilocybe azurescens, and Psilocybe cyanescens. Going to be spawning them to a city park and the coast. I was out hiking and managed to land spores on spare foil I carry in my pack. No idea which set of spores were which but nature will figure it out. Wasn't the cleanest or best print sheet I made but still has spores. Tried to get a good mix of tan, purple and purple-black while swabbing.

Made up a set of Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata off Portland OR genetics to feed a patch and start new ones. I've got some Virginia and Delaware prints coming sometime next week and I'll be mixing those genetics into these patches. Only the strongest phenotypes will survive, and I hope there's enough time between spawning and next spring or fall for horizontal gene transfer to occur.

Knocked up a dozen F+ jars while I was at it.

Been a busy bee.

Made a spore syringe from a spore print from 2014 and added 5 drops to agar.  It's been like 4 days and nothing. How long before it's trash?

There's no exact way to tell. 5 drops is way too many though. Just do a single drop into 5 different plates. 4 days is definitely not "throw it away" period. Also ask these questions in the Q&A thread or learn to Google something.

With agar you should have just used the print IMO. Spore solutions have always given me trouble to germinate on agar. With prints I use my lancet to scrape some spores and then stab the agar so the spores are sandwiched in there. My last few tries with this method all resulted in 2 day germination, was pretty surprised. I never had 2 day germination before and all of a sudden I had 3 different varieties and 1 different species all germinate in 2 days.

My preemie-cake from long ago, that i buried after it's tiny first flush, is actually putting out, now! I hadnt looked at it in a long time, but it rained last night, so i decided to go look:

It seems the cake was even able to colonize some of the dirt around it, since some of those pins on the bottom arent even connected to the cake. im pretty stoked something grew from it haha. did expect it to do anything, since it was such a small half-cake that was birthed too early.

this isn't mushroom cultivation, but ill post anyway.  i've been feeding this fig tree spent composted cube compost from last year(poo/coir/grains turned every few days and watered.)
plot is surrounded by cement, and the girl who lived here before said the tree hadn't grown in past 2 years because the roots where at the soil barrier. this is how it looked last year this time

this is today.  spent substrate pile is on the right. don't know much about plants or trees but looks like its doing pretty well
