Reishi transplant
    #1741042 - 07/23/03 12:16 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

I've got reishi growing naturally in a couple of spots in my yard. My question is there anyway I can spread the growth?

One trick that seems to be working in a little garden I have going is to place uninoculated [fresh] logs adjacent to colonized ones. In TMC or GGMM they say asian cultivators of shiitake used to, or still do, use that trick. Of course it's preferable to inoculate the fresh logs, but to answer the question, I have definitely seen reishi spread from a colonized log to an adjacent neighbor [touching, of course].

I will try that trick. Is there a way of inocculating with the mycelium from the current patch?

or you can wait till they are fully grown and clone it and then spread the mycelium you get from it to where ever you want
