I aim to please

No one knows the worth of innocence till he knows it is gone forever, and that money can't buy it back. Not the saint, but the sinner that repenteth, is he to whom the full length and breadth, and height and depth, of life's meaning is revealed. Good and evil loose all objective meaning and are seen as equally necessary and contrasting elements in the masterpiece that is the universe.

Be like Ghandi. Wise, but patient. Patience is a virtue all people at all levels of development can and will respect, because it is devoid of arrogance and condescention. Get on their level; be it lower or higher. Then and only then can you truly communicate.
My nieces and nephews love and respect me because I listen. I don't always understand them (literally, ya yo gakka wakka, and so forth from the younger ones), but I listen and play with them. I also talk with elders who are way beyond me and don't even understand half of the things they talk about. I can't tell you how many times one of my freind's dad or mom(I'm in my 20's BTW) has come up to me and said something to the effect of, "Wow, you know, most of so and so's freinds are shit for brains, you are the only one who introduced yourself, takes the time to have a conversation with me when ever you visit, and respects my home. That's cool." I can still be an arrogant ass, though.

Hey man, I really like that. I always strive to respect others and try to understand their perspective.. it allows you to get a better understanding of just who they are, which clues you into why they act the way they do, what they are probably thinking... it allows for a more total reality that grants you the oppurtunity to really make a positive impact, to make more conscious decisions...

Peace.

I agree with the fact that age does not necessarily mean wisdom. Im young and Im still learning, but at the end of the day dont we have to believe that we are better than others even if it's just a little bit?
Even if it's just to push ourselves that extra mile, Im not saying you have believe you're god's gift but there's no harm in telling yourself you are better than that.
We're all guilty of being arrogant at some point in our lives, I know I am, and if arrogance is one of my "qualities" in my defence I can only remind myself that Im young and Im still learning!

Great advice.

Good luck playing Ghandi. I'll content myself being being real.

I normally try to relate the people on their level. But I don't want to act like an immature asshole so I can fit in with them. Those people are better when left alone.
