Obsessive is a bit much. Obsession would've allowed me to post multiple links of the articles I've seen this in rather than just state my own observations. I Google shit all the time, from words I don't know to cars that I don't know and everything in between and beyond. Takes like 3 seconds. That doesn't require obsession. Just curiosity.

And how would I know what his motivation is? For all I know dude is just a nut job who picked that place at random. Maybe he knows the people at the church and wanted revenge for some slight he felt they caused. Maybe he only knew one person there and decided if he was gonna kill one he might as well take as many as he could.

Maybe he thought the gun wasn't loaded and he was just goofin. Maybe he thought they were aliens, and the church was their spaceship.

If you can't figure out way a white guy would go into an historic black church and start shooting, you're hopeless.

When a black person gets shot by police they probably deserved it, but when a white person goes into a black church in South Carolina and kills nine black people, :shrug: lets give him the benefit of the doubt guys.

Because racism HAS to be the only answer.. Can't have the same motivation for a black person going into a black church and start shooting. He's white so it's automatically racist.

I can keep finding these if you want.. But my point is made. There are reasons people shoot up "predominately black churches" that have nothing to do with racism. The only difference we have so far with this one and the articles above is that the shooter was white. White on black crime isn't automatically racist.

Not necessarily, it's just highly likely given the circumstances.  If a black person walked into a predominantly white church and killed nine people you better believe race would come up, it would probably be more overt even.

BTW, shooting up a church isn't a just crime. It is terrorism. When a white terrorist targets black people, it's racist.

Look at it from another angle: a white guy shooting up a historic black church is about race, regardless of what the white guy was thinking. There's a history of violence against black churches in the south. Either he's a racist and knew what he was doing, or he's just a regular gun totin white dude from the south who is completely ignorant of the optics of what he's doing.

I hope they catch the fucker.  These days it is hard to get away for long with all the surveillance around.  I kinda suspect a lone wolf and not an organized hate-group, as I think they're ultimately just attention whores and too scrutinized to get away with actually doing something like this.  If this is in any way organized, I'm sure he'll get caught even if he gets some help, as someone always talks.
