Wow, you didn't even mention smog.  Tell it to the earlier poster that looks at it like Disneyland and a fairytale.  A lot like many foreign people think Hollywood is this amazing place then they see it for what it is.

Really? I just went to the beach today for an hour. I had a great time. Where do you live? Why would I rather live where you are right now than having gone to the beach today? Also I went to UCSB for 4 years. Does this look like a complete shithole to you? -


If so what is better a place in your opinion?

Not all of California has a smog problem. I live just north of Los Angeles and the air quality if fine. I just went to the beach today. Here's a photo I posted on facebook -

A lot of the hate for California stems from right wing politics because they freaked out when those 50+ electoral votes came in for Hillary Clinton during the Presidential Election. Then to top it off the Russians have been doing a blitz on California with their propaganda bots. Here's some articles on it -

I laugh to myself often when I'm outside walking and it's the most beautiful night you ever seen in your life. What I laugh to myself is all those people who think this places sucks. They're to ignorant it's just funny to me. They're sitting somewhere in a room on the internet where it's covered in snow outside or extremely hot and uncomfortable, and they're telling me where I live sucks. It's so funny.

California contains beautiful landscapes containing therein little splotches of insufferable peoplescapes. Most places are like that in the USA. You have the parts of town that are either good or bad depending on your socioeconomic status.

California is the best place I have ever lived in the US and I've lived in over 14 different states.
There's lots of problems for sure.. cost of living is crazy, dumbass people fucking everywhere, traffic is insane.. lots of homeless.. laws are restrictive, libtards running the state, but it's still fucking awesome.
Been here 9 or 10 years now and we don't want to move, we love where we live so much. I've never had better opportunities and my career and life took off from here and I moved here homeless. Standard of living is high.
The main problem is the sheer amount of people. There's just too goddamn many people. Most are dumb.

There is no major smog problem in LA area anymore, it's not the 90s. California has the strictest emissions regulations in the US.
While there's still air pollution, it's a massive fucking metro city area and it's waay better than it used to be. I live just south of LA and the air quality is great here. And Mediterranean climate :cool:
Clear skies every day, the most beautiful beaches in the US (imo) and the most diversity of geography and climate of any state. Lots of cool people. And a whole lot of idiots.

I was born in Southern CA and have spent 30 years in Northern CA.

I love this state. Dad and Mom grew up in New Jersey. I love NJ.

I grew up on the central coast of california, near monterey bay.  Had a nice childhood, its a beautiful state.  Fuck southern california, that place is shit. :laugh:    However at 18 I moved to arizona because there was no way I was ever ever ever going to be able to afford to start a career in I.T. in the silicon valley, even only living an hour away from it.  California is a shit show with their state management, taxes, infrastructure and a fuck ton of other shit. 

I do miss the natural beauty it has, and now that my parents left there and moved to Oregon near the cali border I do want to move closer to them as they are getting older, but the places I'd like to live are not so good for technical people like me to have a career.  The only affordable places are out in the sticks, which would be fine with me if I can score a stable work from home position with good pay.

The costs are just too high in that state over all.  The places that are even remotely affordable by your average middle income person are a lot worse then people think.  If you go to a place like Fresno or bakerfield you will see what a meth addled gang land that mixes in just enough white trailer trash to be diverse looks like.

That made me laugh.  My brother got into bitcoins when those in the know before corporate greed and banks took over he lost a hell of a lot of money.  So now he is pissed.  Working that much and losing it like placing a large wager on a bet. 

Everything evolves and he was one step behind instead of forward.

hahaha typically central cal/Nocal cliche attitude "ohh fuck So Cal it sucks so hard".
I really don't get the elitism people in the north have against southern California. It's not like that the other way around. NoCal people just LOVE to shit on SoCal for some reason.
That attitude is especially prevalent in the Bay area. I never really heard a single bad thing about the bay area the whole time I lived in LA (~4 years)..
I spent a couple days in San Fran and heard MAD shit talked on SoCal.. even just in passing or people on the street.
Probably because they are jealous :tongue: Our streets don't smell like piss (unless you in skid row..) and it doesn't cost $8,000/month to rent a studio.

Anyway, our city is better than yours :tongue2: :grin:

He's in Arizona.. the land of melting dashboards and shoes, and people that drive 25MPH across all 5 lanes of highway when the speed limit is 55.
And bikers who ride in the middle of the street when they have an entire dedicated bike lane that a truck could drive through.

Most people in socal aren’t the liberal types. I wouldn’t call them conservatives either. People here just don’t have the time to be worried about other people. It’s really a small group who are advocating for shit. The city I live in you can be who ever you’d like nobody gives a shit. maybe California is dead last on the list cause most people in California are lower middle class if not poor. That doesn’t mean people are living a bad quality of life.
