Not cult but I just saw this article where they were able to take a picture of entangled photons

Kinda feels like some fake hippy shit but seems to be legit.

This is wild: Nature Photonics

Right? I thought for sure this was bullshit initially. Like what are the odds two connected particles with opposing spins happen to form an ancient religious/philosophical symbol about opposing forces being connected.

One thing for sure, this will be taken totally out of context by sellers of woowoo.

But yeah, my head asplode also.

From the paper:

"Finally, Fig. 6 demonstrates an example of the potential applications of biphoton digital holography. The unknown pump beam can carry information about an image or be scattered by a three-dimensional object. The information about the scatterer is transferred to the SPDC state and can be retrieved through our technique (Fig. 6b)."

They're intentionally transmitting this image. It's not an image of two entangled photons, it's an image they're encoding and recovering, but that's as far as I understand it.

Out of consideration for those of us who prefer not to read, I wish they would have chosen a less mystical and evocative image to hologram.  Like the face of Garfield the cat, for instance. 🤔

Lol. I think it's a constructed image. They deliberately chose it to look like that.edit:I mean lol Garfield 😄

I bought 9 gourmets through 2 small businesses and I think the problem is the people just don’t know what they’re doing. The ones that I’m having issues with are all the more popular ones so I assume they’ve just been selling lc and then using the last bit to make a new batch over and over instead of using the original culture.

I might actually be less annoyed if they’re doing it on purpose, at least then they know the basics of the thing they’re trying to make money from.:lol:

Idk why I assumed gourmets would be any better than the random people selling cubes.

It pisses me off more because they’re legal, legally legitimate doesn’t seem to stop them being legitimately lazy and/or scammers, I’d just be happy to at least get spores so I can start from scratch myself.

These are my biggest fruits i've grown so far 😍

Strain Albino A+, coming from a Sporeprint and cleaned on Agar

Perspective is a bit off, but the lighter is actually smaller than the fruit :whistling:

From the Gandalf tub I posted yesterday, could’ve gone longer but I needed the space.

Never had it so difficult to harvest, trying to twist and pull and was just lifting the entire sub out of the tub with each fruit  😮

Snapped off a lot of gills and caps in the process

AA+ was my first love
they are leucistic, not albino... you can see some colour in them and the spores are purple/brown
They can get generously heavy, seems like you gonna have a good tub, well done! clone the guy holding the lighter

First semilanceata tries...I remember feeling more confident about the one on the left:lol:...either way, these spores were plated 1-1 and only went to t2 by the end of May.  Tried my luck with the t2 but maybe I'll have some nicer t4 jars by 2025 lol

It wouldn't hurt to try some other types of spawn/sub in the jar (alfalfa pellets, straw, coffee, verm, brf, etc) since it take so long might as well have it consolidate its sub at the same time)

Nice chonker.  Yeah Gandalf was probably the most deep “rooted” fruits I’ve come across.  Highly recommend cutting them off.  Josex gave me that advice because they’re so slow to recolonize that pulling the fruits off can lead to exposed grains in sub after harvest and mold can beat out the myc recolonizing it
