fuck the 53% *rant*...
    #19921408 -

and by 53% i mean the 53% that doesnt fit into the 47% from mitt romneys' rant...and their the ones that are leading the current reactionary political surge going into the 2014 midterms and prolly into 2016 and beyond...

their side of the story is that they have to work for all the money that the "welfare queens" are spending off the skin of their backs.. that they are willing to pay that tax out of the goodness of their hearts (what fucking hearts??).. but that the WQs dont appreciate them.. that take them for granted.. and the WQs keep having more kids and asking for more when their all out...

go put on a fucking swastika armband if you agree with any of those positions in the least.. bcos thats exactly the kind of policies that your going to get from the ppl that are about to win the elections on those grounds ..a jackbooted police state at home (including a major escalation of the drug war) and aggressive nuclear imperialism abroad...

and for all the wrong reasons too...

of course the WQ argument is bullshit...more specifically..the vast majority of WQs actually have jobs...but that doesnt matter since that frame has already been established...

Romney was exactly right.  That 47% will never vote for somebody who doesn't pander to bums and give them free shit.

I propose a system that if you receive benefits from the state you lose your right to vote as it is a conflict of interest. When your benefits are up you regain your right to vote.

of course those reactionary voters have a valid point...but there has to be another way to address the problem w/o their candidates' malignant ideologies...

Good idea. Lots of luck getting it past the democraps.

It would take a Constitutional amendment that not even I would support even though it would mean the end of socialism in America.

I'd get behind that amendment in a heartbeat, as well as term limits, a 2/3 majority to pass any legislation and a balanced budget.

Edit: And an amendment prohibiting the practice of tacking unrelated amendments onto other bills.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. This has been the source of more mischief than even the idiotic interpretation of the Commerce Clause.

I am not in favor of term limits.  I am in favor of ending the practice of franking which is essentially allowing incumbents to make campaign statements on the taxpayer dime.  A balanced budget amendment wouldn't do shit to rein in spending because they'll just raise taxes on the few to pay for the sins of the many until the few become the none

Very nice I might even write my congressman and talk to others who could be interested if enough people get behind this who knows what could happen.

Well damn, both lds and zappa had good ideas? Along with gil of course. Term limits are a must to keep the bums from becoming entrenched. Unrelated amendments are the weasel trick we must lose. If the moochers couldn't vote, the dems would wither away. Not that i want to see the gop gain absolute control, they are just as deep in the pockets of the lobbyists as the dems.

Here is my suggestion. End all campaign contributions to candidates as well as all forms of payola. No more speaking fees, no more donations to someone's favorite cause, no job after office, no in kind, no nothing. If no one can buy an election then things will clean up. Also get rid of that latest monstrosity that allows unlimited contributions and advertizing. Get rid of citizens v united while you are at it. I know zap won't like any of those because they are good ideas and he is against most good ideas.

People could still contribute, they would simply give it to a central clearing office that gives it to the candidates stripped of who gave what. They get the money but are never sure who gave, so pay for play takes a hit.

How about limiting campaign contributions to a certain amount. That seems to me to be a good idea.

Thats a start, it would be better than the unlimited crap scotus wished on us. Its the other sneaky ways of paying off that are the problem too.

That is fucking insane. That is beyond horrible Voting isn't something you just take away. I know it's based on the false premise that most people are smart and considerate, and that will dilute the morons, but taking away millions on people's right to vote because they receive some sort of public assistance is ridiculous.

If anything, we should make voting mandatory, so more then half of half of the population gets a vote

Your idea disenfranchises the poor more, who already don't het much od a say because they are poor

We have this disgusting culture of blaming the poor here. What if I'm born poor, and have to take public assistance, and I don't get my act together until I'm 30? I'm 23 and doing ot, but I wouldn't look down on someone who doesn't feel the urge to work and participate serious way, especially if their parents suck. Most parents I've arena rent too good, especially ones with no money.

Sometimes that bit of public help keeps people afloat, and by holding it against everyone like a Scarlet letter, people like you deny others the shovel or the will to dig themselves out of the hole that society and your mother births you into

I didn't want to be part of society for years after high school, as about half of people are umempathetic garbage. I saw the importance of obtaining financial security, myself
Money is security, freedom, power, respect, as sad as that is

I am not proposing eliminating welfare or public assistance I am merely preventing the bum class from becoming entrenched. If your hypothetical poor worked hard and got off the dole great he can now have a vote.

The way you speak is so unempathetic. You throw up the abstract concept of work, as though it's an itch that you can scratch if you reach just a bit more. My town sucks, but there are people that live in worse places with like a few hundred or thousand people in their town, there are people that work hard and get nowhere.

This 'on the dole' nonsense is garbage too. When money is spent on the poor, they spend it fast, and money flow keeps the businesses alive, Walmart hiring, and all of that. We need spending anyway, so that money can flow, people can spend, and prosperity can be spread.

Sadly, we have rich people saving allot more then they spend, and a whole party that believes government is a mistake poisoning it from within, and outside financial corruption corrupting from the outside.

I can see making people work for public money, but taking away their right to vote is sick. May as well take their guns away

Also, this encouragement to fet off public assistance, considering how many preachy self-rightous people like you are out there, it doesn't make being on foodstamps feel great. Yay, $180 a month. No, really, it's barely enough, but I'm not starving completely. I would be so upset of they healed my lifeline and right to vote hostage

What will we do in twenty or fourty years when we have more people and even less need for human labor? Where will people get money then?

Hmmm you think there might be some correlation or even cause and effect?
