Why are you guys even talking about religion? All those varieties of Christianity are just different interpretations about a living man named Jesus. Jesus isn't a religion and had nothing to do with religion, he simply taught the one truth that all real sages, saints and prophets teach, that of the one God.

You are wrong if you think the major religions have nothing in common, if you actually do some research it is clear that they all believe in one sense or another in a one God that cannot be understood through the medium of the intellect, they all view God as the higher reality. Buddhism may not mention God but that is because it focus' on the impersonal aspects of reality or God and it is still about transcendence of this material, physical blood and guts plane of existence. Some religions focus on the impersonal aspects of God while others the manifestation of the divine personality.

Pegan religions of deity worship such as that of the Greeks and Romans is in no way similar to the major religions which view God as not a created being (resembling men) but as reality itself.

This is pure bullshit on its face. It's depressing that mentally healthy adults still go around with these kinds of absurd beliefs.

If you were correct, then trippers who believe they can fly would not drop to their death when they jump off a building. Get with the program. Fantasy is for Disney World and little kids.

When adults fail to grasp this simple truth, we get suicide bombers blowing themselves up in crowds of civilians because their fantastical invisible friend told them they'll go to heaven and fuck virgins.

Religion and belief in fantasy by adults is NOT harmless. It is the primary reason we live in a fucked up world that locks up harmless people minding their own business because they have an illegal plant in their pocket. Nevermind how mind-numbingly stoopid the idea of an illegal plant is. It's also why we have beheaded little girls who were just trying to go to school. Or women stoned to death for riding in a car with a man they are not related to.

C'mon man. When are humans going to move past these kinds of non-thinking medieval beliefs in fantasy that has zero supporting evidence? It's the 21st century and we still act like we're barely past the monkeys-in-trees level of mentality, wearing talismans and burning incense to ward off evil spirits, casting bones to make life-altering decisions, and electing world leaders who consult witch doctors and invisible friends to set national policy (see Ronald Reagan, George Bush, and Sarah Palin). It's no wonder this planet is such a fucking mess.
