They're all genetically determined to taste like shit, regardless of substrate.

I have to disagree with Azure, I have had lots of different tastes from different strains and different substrates. Mostly though, I find having them fresh is a big help. They tend to get that weird taste more from drying than aything else. My fav. thing to do is to blend a fresh one into some juice and have a shroom-shake.

I know that they do taste pretty bad dried, but I can assure you that I've gotten some off of a friend of mine that taste worlds better than the one's that I grow myself, now if I could grow better tasting shrooms, how much better could life be?
