Bhutto: "I have faith that God will protect me."

That quote from a recent interview a few weeks before her assasination.

While I mourn her loss as a potential political leader, faith as per usual, had no effect on reality.

"Nothing fails like prayer."

Note that every American presidential candidate as well as Bush saw how well well faith and prayer worked and thus publicly said roughly the same thing regarding her death, "We send our prayers to your family."

To which the Bhutto family, who have suffered many other political assassinations, responded, "Can we afford any more faith and prayers?"

Payers in this case (as well as in most situation) can be replaced with anything that makes the injured feel the center of attention and have their "qualities" acknowledged.
No matter which way you turn it, weak minds will always find means to justify themselves.

When are you going to find the time to take a walk in the mountains when you're so busy post-spamming the Shroomery?

This Bhutto article is headlining 5/6 of the sites I linked in my last post.

In the spirit of compensating for OC's over-simplified and consequently loaded quotation:
Quote:

Former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto may have had some dark foreboding about her death when she said in London before returning to her country that there are "people who want to kill me".

"I know there are security risks, people who want to kill me and to scuttle the restoration of democracy," Bhutto said in an interview with the Sunday Times ahead of her return home on October 18.

"But with my faith in god and trust in the people of Pakistan, I'm sure the party workers will be there and will protect me," she added.

I walk every morning at about 6am here with my doggie up in the Mountains. We walk for one or two hours usually. I have rarely missed a day in almost 18 years.

I have little interest in what goes on in the human drama day to day. If I check in once a month I'm immediately caught up. I don't vote and so don't need to know who stands where on what. When the big meteor is about to hit I'm guessing I will hear about it on the streets and so have time to aim my telescope and get out my fiddle.

A Supposition

Prayer, petitionary prayer, has worked for me in the past with very very particular results. I wonder if prayer, like the electron phenomenon, in which an observed electron 'behaves' differently than an unobserved electron, is similar.

The late Ms. Bhutto made public proclamations about her faith - observed by hundreds of millions - even though she knew the very great possibility of her assasination. Mohandas Gandhi also anticipated his assasination, and when he was struck by the fatal bullet, exclaimed "Ram!" (which is God in Hindi), but he was not expecting his earthly life to be spared. Hey, nobody gets out of life alive, and if Ms. Bhutto sought protection from death, then she was far too naive. But back to faith and prayer...this level of reality which is a form of theugy or High Magick, seeks alteration of a human time-line. If prayer operates at all, it operates according to metaphysical principles in which the inner projects the outer.

In everyday life one can use certain models for observing this principle. Eckhart Tolle's "pain body," which thrives on pain operates in each individual (I watch it operate in me and I endeavor to shrink this sub-personality every day) and it operates in whole cultures. Introverted Indian culture manifests the "pain body" in individual disregard for cleanliness, health and hygiene, not to mention lack of governmental aid for the people along these lines. The Middle East extroverts its "pain body" in the bloody madness of suicide bombings and retaliatory mentality.

The obverse of this "pain body" model lies in very High states of consciousness, which are very deep states - close to the Transcendental Ground Consciousness to use some Buddhist and Transpersonal jargon. I have noticed that a crazed, wrench-wielding street person was completely 'disarmed' psychologically when he threatened that "Someone's head is gonna get creased," to which I immediately responded "Hey man, don't go and hurt anyone, why don't you hang around with us for a while?" His faced registered surprise, he lowered the wrench and he stammered something about how he had to do something and ran away. Love-bombed. I notice how on trips in the woods, wild animals get really close and that when I'm really centered, I've 'squirrel-talked' the furry rascals out of trees and right to my feet. A pelican allowed me to put my arm around it and hold its bill while a friend removed a hook and leader from its chest which would've killed it. I just got centered and spoke to it with a centerd voice.

Now, if Consciousness has primacy, metaphysically speaking, and if magick and prayer are practical acknowledgements of these principles, then they may well operate. However, if one brings these inner operations of Intention (Will) to the outer world of cause-effect, sense and reason, then not only is the 'spell' broken, and prayer undone, but the ignorance of those who wrongly expose these quiet inner workings is demonstrated to those who have not subscribed to the primacy of Consciousness (or the 'efficacy of prayer'). I am reminded of the futile attempt to bring deep-sea creatures to shallow waters, only to have them explode! They need remain at the depths.

In the above examples, I related inner states of consciousness having effects on the consciousnesses other sentient beings. Perhaps you might concede, but there might be other causes like voice tone or movements being perceived by the senses of those creatures. Yes, but, those mechanisms serve embodied consciousness you might add. However, if Consciousness is ontologically prior to materiality (if Intelligence preceded the 'Intelligent Design' of the universe), then an embodied consciouness such as yours or mine ought to be able to interface with Consciousness Itself (Huxley's "Mind at large"). Boasting about a spell (or perhaps about one's protection by God), as any humble Wiccan folk-magick practitioner will tell you, leads to no success or worse - negative consequences. Humility may seem like secrecy and hence 'occultism,' but perhaps it all gets back to the observed versus the unobserved electron. Perhaps the inner not only projects the outer, but the Microcosm effects the Macrocosm, just like the witches, magicians, occultists and religious have always maintained, but that there is, after all, some technique to it all.

She was playing politics and all that she said was just posturing IMO. So she's dead now. OH NO! The world is in deep trouble now. A politician is dead.:whoa:
