A possibility of dis-connectedness.
    #6046684 -

I've just returned home from a walk around a small part of my town. This thought, among others, struck me as important.

I think one reason why many people do not feel connected to the earth, and the energy and life it provides, is because so much of it has been dug up and paved or made concrete. It's hard, if not impossible, to feel a connection when you aren't even walking on ground anymore.

there is certainly some truth to this, however i hardly think its the whole of it. i spent a lot of time in a pretty wild area growing up and although i certainly felt some connection to the earth, it was never that strong. i still felt like a seperate thing, the "man vs nature" feeling. i think that the fact that the earth has been dug up and paved over so much is a result of the "man vs nature" feeling and not the other way around. the feeling of disconnectness came first.

True, there is always more to everything. Awareness is the fullness of connection. And once you're aware how nice it feels to take off your shoes and walk on earth and feel her energy you ask yourself "why not"?

Would you care to share why you felt [feel] this "man vs. nature" feeling?

And yes, I don't think this is the whole of it, just a portion.  I'm unsure of whether this is a result of, or a precursor to the situation; maybe a little bit of both :smirk:

Yeah, the "man vs. nature" idea leads to the question what 'part' of man is not natural ?

edit: Or is he fighting his own nature ? Then. what is that for what he strives ? His independence from nature ? How could that ever be possible ? Like the independence of the solar-system from the rest of the universe ? It's not true, but in every larger scale we are interconnected. Sun-system to milky way... The more far, we are nor really able to go. Galaxies collide. Complex organisms arise and enter the realm of spirituality.
Sorry, for rambling edit
