Dunno if they should teach personal growth 101 though.... Accordingly everyone would be getting along and nobody would be able to feel superior to another person. We can't have that in our society. Think how it would be if people actually respected each other, without context of appearance nor a determination made on the basis of another's belief system. I sure as hell wouldn't want to live their.

I was replying to Paradigm in that last reply you took quotes from.

That sticks and stones example you gave actually came up in the TV special called "Bullied to Death" which I was watching as you were first putting this post up.

The specialist, brought in to one school to educate the children to help prevent another columbine, asked the children if "sticks and stones can break your bones but names can never hurt you" was true.

Every 5th grader loudly voiced, " NOOOOOOOOO" She asked them why it wasn't true. They all chimed in with reasons and she said to them, "Names do hurt us don't they? The kids said " YEEEEEEEEESSSSS"

She said to them next, "You are taught that abuse is only physical but it is not. I am going to teach you now about mental and emotional abuse, what it is and how to recognise it as it can be just as violent and even more damaging then a physical punch and you need to learn this because it is not acceptable either."

She is being hired out by schools to speak to children on bullying, teasing and harassment.

The bottom line is, a small percentage of human beings get as far as to over come their egos to a place of complete detachment from even the physical body.

Is it someones fault they have big ears, buck teeth or needs to wear corrective glasses? Is its some obese kids fault he is so big because he has a thyroid disorder or his parents over feed him crap and don't encourage exercise? Is it that boys fault his mom drank through her pregnancy and he is retarded? Is it that Asian boys fault he has squinty eyes?

How are these kids to separate themselves from their bodies, let alone adults who do not come upon ego physical detachment philosophies and teachings?

Is it there fault they haven't? If it is, does it then make it okay to call all of them names and to tease and harass or worse isolate them from the group because names don't hurt us according to the sticks and stones rhyme?

The kids pretty much agreed that feeling isolated from their group of peers was by far the worst of it all. This can happen in the work place too.

Should all preschools teach Buddhism detachment from the physical 101 3 years after the kids enter the physical body? Would that totally fuck up their development and keep them flying around in the aether's permanently? As if ADHD Attention Dialed into Higher Dimensions isn't already another isolating label kids get teased for at epidemic proportions.

Houston, we have a problem.

If kids were taught consideration of others feelings and respect for themselves and others from the get go, the rest of this moving into adulthood wouldn't be an issue.

The bottom line to your dilemma Tomcat and I do hear you , is that you want to be free to be yourself jovial, fun loving joke cracking self in the work place. You told us in another post that a superior had a problem with something you typed in a proposal. Is that what this is about?

In the work place we are not on our own free time. We are selling our self to fit the employers definitions and expectations of us for that time. Yes, growing up sux! Maybe you are best suited to being an entertainer or self employed. You do have options to remove yourself from sucky work expectations if they restrict your creative expression. :wink:

That may be the only way for you to empower yourself here and get out of suxville. :headbang:

Oh, I joke pretty much 24/7 even with my warnings, I can't help but to be me....  I am not a robot as some would like me to be - I am ME....!!  My boss doesn't really want me to stop being me, just to be more careful with work e-mails....  He is the most tolerant boss I have ever seen, to the point of fault, but his heart is with the people that work for him....  :shrug:  (Paul, Ssshhhhhhh....!) :shiftyeyes: :tongue:

Actually, this thread was honestly a topic that was brought up in my training....  And when I make *most* of my threads here, there is *usually* little commenting, or debating....  I wanted to see if I could get something going, and your "nudity" thread + my training gave me a sparked moment of creative typing to start this thread idea....  Just considered a topic for discussion only, perhaps to test my dimwit and debating skills....  I wouldn't feel right debating other people's religious beliefs as I have no basis for debate - besides equality ( and I came here to LEARN about other beliefs)....  I DO think this topic turned out rather nicely....  :thumbup:  Prolly more so because of you....  :heart:

The higher-up that had a problem, he had the problem, not me...!    :lol:    I respect nothing he says after one conversation I had with him after he lost one of his better Sales people to another company (incidentally, a very sharp woman that worked her ass off)....  She worked directly under him, as our higharchy "tree" is not really "normal"....  So, she leaves, and I go into his "open door policy" office to discuss with him what the plans were now that she was gone....  He went on to speak about how he didn't like her "aggressive style" (Ummmm, sales...?), and used a side story to explain what he thought of her leaving....  And it goes like....:

"You get a bucket, and fill it almost full of water....  Take your fist and plunge it into the bucket of water....  Now pull it out....  The hole that is left is how much she will be missed...."

All respect I *might* have had for the man was gone....  I had heard that little story before in rumor from another person a while back, but not from someone so high up in the company, face to face....  About a person that worked directly under him....  Nice thing to say about one of your GOOD honest working people....?????      It put a real eye opeing "charactor perspective" on the *little man* from my perspective....  And he is by no means "little", but I sure as hell don't see him as a "big boss man" anymore....  And he has the nerve to give pep talks at our meetings to boost moral....?  :lol:  :shake:    What a joke of an outlook....  How could I ever respect or take any of his words to be relevant anymore....?

No, I had no problem at all with him being offended by my e-mail, as if they fire me, they fire me (it would most definately be their lose, and time would certainly prove that)....  I do like my job, but there are many others out there just like mine or similar....  It would be a good challenge for me, and I would embrace it anyways....  Many skills to offer another employer,  just as I do mine now....  I would be very interested to see what would happen to the company if they were to get rid of me....  :tongue:

Look at the situation this way


For a VERY long time men and women were not equal/balanced. Then we let women come into the work place. They still were not treated as "equals".  As time went by the women's "Karma" started to balance the "equation" out. Things may have to go a little too far the other way to "even the score"


We saw the same type of thing happen during the civil rights movement.

Any time their has been an imbalance for a VERY LONG TIME there will be a "Karma Backlash" (if  you will) To bring everything back in "balance".


This "transition phase" wont last long........but it will bruise some men's ego.

The thing is - also the thing that struck me reading the "intersexual" thread - is that how can you know what feeling feminine is like when you are a male? It seems most likely to me that the terms feminine and masculine are null and void when applied to mental states. Sure, there are traits that are more common to females than males, and these surely have an effect on how on feels, but to describe them as "masculine" and "feminine" is to miss the point, I think. Not all females have the same brain, and thus the same feelings.

Don't see why we have to classify everything to such a degree that's where all this differentation and competition comes from. It's the fuel of the fire so to speak, the minute you compare something, seperate it from a familiar context, and classify it.... Other's will surely fight over which is better.

I haven't read everyone's posts, just the women's posts, I'd like to add my perspective...

You women who believe that most men don't respect women. What do you think? You think that's just how it is? You think god made two genders and the one disrespects and dominates the other? You think you women are so innocent, so giving and loving? It is your burden to suffer us? To suffer our disrespect?

Bullshit. Men who disrespect women disrespect women because women disrespected them. Men who hate women hate women because women hated them. I'm not going to say rapists rape women because women raped them, but these negative feelings are all mixed together and it's going to be something else, hate, humiliation, abandonment. Women have abandonment to use, that's their weapon # 1, humiliation, emasculation, all these things. Did you know John Wayne Gacies mother used to send him off to school dressed like a little girl? It's the same circle of hate that causes religious hate, ethnic hate, class hate. Gender hate, gender disrespect is a two way street and women around the world give 100% as much as they take.

All my life women have treated me like filth, like dogshit on their shoes, because I have been skinny. They laughed at me with their friends, behind my back and to my face. When guys I have known, my enemies and friends humiliate me, that is cutting. But nothing cuts more than the laughter of women, what dignity do you have left after that? They have such disgust for me, such disdain. ...[personal shiznits which should not have been typed]... Women have humiliated me all my life...and women treat overweight men the same way... and seek to give their lives to asshole mysoganists with big pecs.

Across the world... this is how it is. Maybe you don't do this Jiggy, maybe you are one of the 'good' women but this is why so many men are mysogenists. It's a two way street.... the genders fuck with each other, hate each other, in perfect holy balance, as everything else in god's holy cosmos is in perfect balance.

You seem to be "shining" this negativity thru your words and your thoughts....    You have the choice to let it bother you or not....  You have made a choice to single out a woman as having a more negative (or more powerful) voice in your suffering thru life....  It is all perspective, I do understand this.... 

I heard something today that was a good way as a Philosophy, and I found it quite true and "biting"....  And all within 3 little words....

Some things you cannot change in your life, somethings you can....  The perspective is yours for the choosing, and those negative intents of the people in your life, what do they mean....?    What do they mean to you....?    Why do you CHOOSE to GIVE them so much STRENGTH....?

I agree that's bullshit joo.

Speaking for myself, I never said that most men are disrespectful of women. Most men are know are VERY respectful of women ( in their presence and in consideration of them at least).

I also know women who are disrespectful of both men and women, as you gave example of and I know men who are are very disrespectful of men and women.

Pretty much, I know mostly respectful human beings and some disrespectful human beings.


However, by assuming things never said to have been said, you were able to get those feelings off of your chest. Yes, Joo, some people, men and women alike, just suck in the respect and consideration department!

That's why TomCat and I made suggestions of respect and consideration being a part of fundemental early education. I do my part ot cover for a lacking educational system by teaching my daughter to be considerate and respectful of other peoples thoughts and feelings.

I have to say that I have suffered a fair amount of humiliation in my life from both women and men. As a teenager I had a problem that was caused by a disorder. I suffered from involuntary tics and twitches accompanied by involuntary grunts and other fun noises. I was later nailed down as having Asperger's disorder. You cannot imagine the social embarrassment I was subjected to. My parents did not understand it and, in their ignorance, assumed I was trying to obtain attention so when punishing me did not make it go away they also made fun of me, and accused me of trying to bring embarrassment upon them. The tics and twitches subsided when I was 16. I know all about taking mental abuse. Now I will tell you that life is not always easy and everyone should have the capacity to absorb abuse while being resilient. That means while being free of bitterness and anger. I over compensated for years and and became an belligerent person to scare people away. I figured no contact was better than abuse. It took until I was 33 to realize that I was an idiot for harboring all that anger. I had allowed myself to be infected by the poison of other people and it was killing me. By taking this poison in the first place one is a fool. Forgiveness is the key to maintaining one's sanity. Abuse received from others is merely their interpretation of the dream they call life. Nothing should be taken personal. It is also folly to generalize people based on sex, race, or religion according to your previous contact with people of those types. We all have the "right" to exist without harassment, but life is not aware of these rules and rights. In the end the ability to absorb some abuse is a gift...a gift of tolerance.

Okay, maybe I should've said less common in the scope of the global population. American men rank higher in this department then many other countries, particularly the middle east, parts of Asia and Africa! I don't even want to get started on how women are treated in many other countries but will give a reminder taste.

Did you know in some African cultures they cut a girls clitoris off to keep her from experiencing sexual pleasure?

Did you know in some countries, a Family member can legally kill a woman if she had premarital sex?

However, in my little world within the big world, most men I know are respectful and considerate of women. The only male I can think of in my close personal circle of relationships that is at times disrespectful and some what chauvinistic to my disdain is my father. Oh fuck, my dad thinks he's better then everyone. 

Non the less, my respect for my mother keeps him around in my close personal circle of relationships.

My sister called me crying the other night because she said men are pig jackasses. My sister would say most men are not respectful or considerate. I guess this is a subjective opinion thing really. My sister has little respect for men as well. I get on her selfish self for it too and constantly ride her about respect and consideration being a two way street.

I also said a handful of times, that I was speaking for the voice of women who are not to be found hanging here at the shroomery with a majority of men, my sister would be one of them.

Does that clear it up? :wink:

I would still like to say that men who are respectful and considerate of women are gods to me anyway. :bow: :bow: :bow: :bow:
