Well, if you prefer something, then you choose it because its what you prefer

I choose to be happy but am still sad. Now what?

Keep choosing happiness
Your mind is a garden
Your thoughts are seeds
Keep planting seeds of fruits you intend to see grow into maturity
Gardening your mind is a lifelong enterprise

I presume your mind is in heaven, based on what you have portrayed in this thread thus far.

As above so below
As within so without

Your earth(physical) is as it is in heaven(mind)

that is the essence of curating what you value.

however, happiness is not a thing that could be put above or below, it is a resulting feeling (in-between or encompassing both above and below) - a resulting feeling of something else which you can value and curate and cultivate, such as kindness, music, art, physical prowess...
such things may result in feelings of happiness

I would have liked something that "teaches you how to control your external reality by managing your thoughts, energy, and attention" as a teenager (and that drew me to meditation and yoga), but it is not something I am attracted to now - though I still like meditation and yoga.

I am pretty sure that control of thoughts is not possible, and control of attention is also not possible, but it is very possible to like certain things and to curate your life by arranging them so that what you experience is satisfactory both internally in mind and externally in the physical world.

this requires appreciating being the curator.
many creatures get into it in visible ways
like bower birds

like how this is not complicated but poetic

Even at low doses, quitting quetiapine abruptly can cause trouble sleeping, rebound symptoms, or withdrawal.

sorry that you are taking this ward-worthy path.
it will disrupt your career recreational drug user identity,
but you are still a shroomery member, many here have stopped indulging but still feel like this is the place they belong.
