I mean... I'm certainly on the spectrum and now questioning if you are as well, but how can you not perceive that that was obviously a joke? Like, are you being for real? I don't know how many I've spoken with.

We're talking about a serious war in which people are dying and major ramifications on the world are happening due to energy crises... and you're over here joking about this stuff.

I can't say I'm surprised at all, given your reputation and record. I am surprised people are still conversing with you and not totally ignoring you.

You're too much...he wasn't joking about the war, he was joking about one reference he made to the number of Iranians he's spoken with, being '420'.  That's fucking insidious of you to grandstand over such a benign comment, then go on to further attempt to smear his reputation and suggest he should be banned like you just did with your last post.

FOE was joking about something that was directly and strongly related to the Iran War. To say they weren't joking about the war is simply incorrect. There's not much more to say on this, unless you need me to spell it out for you. Please let me know if you do, I have no problem giving deeper logic that supports my reasoning

You gotta put it in context.  For weeks now, FOE has been claiming that the Iranians are in favor of being bombed by the U.S. He's offered no proof.  He claims to have spoken to enough Iranians to form a reliable opinion, but he doesn't know how many or if they are actually Iranians.

That level of dishonesty, whether joke or not, is pretty reprehensible when we're talking about killing people.

He has offered proof, though, as have I...in the form of video footage and multiple articles from reputable news sources (many of them left-leaning such as CNN and NY Times) which you must've missed somehow...

The immediate context here btw, is smear tactics used by some within this thread, which lifeiswhatyoumake's post serves to illustrate...taking a benign reference made by FOE jokingly referring to the flack he's gotten over the number of Iranians he's supposedly communicated with, and attempting to portray him as joking about the war in an extremely insensitive manner, which is a blatant lie.

It's quite astounding tbh, the number of folks I've encountered during my short time within this forum who seem to lack the ability to concede that they've been wrong about something.  This applies especially to you, my good friend.

Your videos and news sources are people celebrating the death of the supreme leader.  That is not the same as celebrating ongoing attacks by America.  I don't know why I have to keep repeating this.

Furthermore, the claim was also that the majority of Iranians are in support of being bombed.

Those videos and articles that I saw were a collection of anecdotes, but I haven't seen anything that demonstrates they meet the threshold of a representative population sample in order to qualify as a data set that can sustain a valid inference.

The videos are also 9 weeks old.

There's a fair chance sentiment has changed since then.

Yep. I've read at least one article that quoted an interviewed Iranian that attended protests against the government; saying that they have since switched, along with most of their peers, to supporting and attending rallies for the government and military.

I see what you're saying, and I agree I have seen lifeiswhatyoumake fallaciously misrepresent statements and contexts before. I'm not even MAGA but I've been on the receiving end of what MAGA calls derangement syndrome just for not parroting the mob. About a year ago lifeiswhatyoumake sprayed a random (statistically probably a democratic) Tesla owner with a hose after calling him a Nazi. It's pretty similar, IMO, to MAGA's mob pressure on GOP incumbents who refused to redistrict Indiana for Trump. Both sides have extremist groups. Horseshoe theory.

People here similar to him just like easy targets. As soon as someone like FOE says something dumb it's blood in the water. Very few people here take the time to argue reasonably and are worth engaging with.

I won't speak for others, but, personally, I don't have any particular target that I like. That's now how I approach my interactions on this website. I am simply sharing my knowledge on topics and reading what others post and sometimes choosing to respond to them. One thing I don't like to see is misinformation; that shit sucks hard  I like to dismantle and resolve misinformation with the truth, or what seems to be the truth based on logic and not emotions.

FOE happens to be a target of many because of their frequent habit of sharing misinformation. :goodmorning:
