The UN created every single border after the fall of the Byzantine Empire.  Some have been altered a bit.  Israel had existed for millennia.

After WWII, England had a habit of partitioning countries via the UN and immediately leaving, which left fucked up situations even more fucked up. Decades later, and India and Pakistan have nukes pointed at eachother 24/7 and Israel is, well, Israel. I would say the situation there is more a failure on England's part than anything else.

Saddam, uday, and usay got what was coming to them. The world is better now that they're gone. Genocide,rape,murder,larceny is what I can think of off the top. Back to point, #61 civilians love sending other peoples sons to fight with one hand tied behind their backs. And when shit gets hard, the war pigs fold faster than superman on laundry day. Since Korea men and women have been forsaken and  that's a damned disgrace.

I was in Fifth grade when they declared war and thought it was a bunch of bullshit. Killing people with machine guns and missiles doesn't bring peace.

When who declared war?  The U.S. hasn't declared war since 1942.  Either you're very, very old, or you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Presidents can obviously over step the checks and balances in place when people are scared shitless. We bombed the fuck out of Afghanistan without congress giving the go ahead.

We've bombed lots of countries.  Nonetheless, the last time we declared war, it was against Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania in 1942.

It's not semantics.  The guy said that he was in the fifth grade when war was declared.  I opine that he is lying since war has not been declared by the U.S. in many decades.

Definite semantics. You're trying hard to be clever when what he said about war was absolutely true. I expect better from a smart person. Destroying a nations finances by dropping thousands of bombs on enemy territory is as much a declaration of war as saying you are going to drop the bombs formally. Please don't play childish semantics.

False.  A declaration of war is a declaration of war.  Dropping bombs on a country may be an act of war...it may even be a war crime...but it's not a declaration of war.

The guy claims to remember something that never happened.  It's as if I claimed that I remember where I was when pearl harbor was attacked by Germany.

He's trying to bolster his opinion somehow by showing that he had the same opinion when he was in fifth grade...yet he remembers a declaration of war that never happened...so how can we trust his memory about any of it?
