Why do you continue to argue something you are clearly wrong on and which is utterly irrelevant to the point?

:facepalm:The US has not declared war. Period.  Nobody is arguing we and 50 other nations as well as the UN didn't bomb them.

You keep missing the point.  I'm not arguing that we didn't go to war.  I'm arguing that the guy is a liar or has a terrible memory since he remembers something that NEVER HAPPENED.

I'm arguing that he didn't mean it exactly as it came out. That's all I've been arguing the whole time.

It's a small detail to pick apart. We declare war when we send thousands of bunkerbusters to drop. This is what he is meaning.

The only conceivable reason to pick that one detail apart is because you have nothing better to offer to the conversation.

Did the UN declare war in Afghanistan?  Did Britain?  Canada?

Of coarse I don't control the language, I look for the points. It's a lot more efficient and a lot less arguing.

I made an exception here because to attack credibility in a mis phrasing rather than concern yourself with actual points is to completely abuse and miss the point of having a language in the first place.

A person's credibility is the product of several factors:

1. The accuracy of his/her perception,
2. The accuracy of his/her memory, and
3. The accuracy of his/her communication about what he/she remembers perceiving.

So, in this case, the user either perceived incorrectly, remembers incorrectly, or communicated incorrectly...or any combination of two or all of those.

His/her credibility is highly relevant to his/her post.  Lets not forget that he/she hinged his/her entire post on his/her credibility.  The post said:

As you can clearly read, he/she was telling us his/her opinion as a fifth grader.  The only possible value that opinion could hold is if he/she is credible and was credible as a fifth grader.  Since he/she clearly isn't credible about the underlying facts, how can we consider his/her opinion about those facts that never occurred?

What never occurred? Bombs were dropped and troops did land eventually. The post isn't really all that detailed with timeline etc. What it all comes back to is declaration of war.

He didn't state an opinion about bombs being drops or troops landing.  He stated an opinion about the declaration of war.  No such declaration occurred, so why would we consider his opinion about something that didn't happen?

Because the declaration of war statement is what you're arguing semantics over.

Its a declaration of war to your enemies when you start murdering the in mass.

And that's another case of semantics not conveying truth. Murder is murder and war is war. Dress it up but killing is murder when intentional, we only tell ourselves its not to pretend its morally acceptable.

Can't advertize joining the marines by telling s bunch of Christians they'll be murdering the enemy.
