Kinda of proves we need a strong military,  European union nations relied on our strength to grow there economy by cutting military spending.  Everywhere else needed usaid money as aid. Soft power doesn't work when hard power shows up. Iran had deals with Russia and China to be defended but once usa comes knocking with bombs,there agreements means nothing.

Besides you doing have a government feed all its people unless they are communists and brutal.

I'm quite shocked to see you of all people calling them "ignorant/arrogant" for standing up to the predominant world power in a more meaningful way than any of us can. Whatever their reasons, they don't like the direction that the US seems to want to take the world, and they are not going along with it.

The war in Iran is just yet another tick on the PNAC-neocon checklist. Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya etc. This agenda was decided on long before Trump took office and was originally marketed to the public as: The War on Terror. 

To focus on Trump, and pretend he’s primarily responsible for this war, intentionally diverts attention away from the far greater danger (and this is getting serious now) of those who control him and control all US (and western) politicians, as well as the media and ‘independent’ media. These people will not be gone after Trump is.

The convenient thing about blaming Trump is it creates the illusion that if only we get rid of him then everything will be fine again!

They then bring in a new political puppet or party (saying all the right things) only for the process to repeat.
