Reason ^ we shake after 100%. This subtrop jar was the best looking one at the very beginning, out of 3 others.

This was shaken a couple of weeks ago as you can see the the white myc has lost it's dark blue tinge

I've never grown anything but cubes, but is that normal for subtrop?

I'm not sure if you're saying "this one went bad" or "this is what it's supposed to look like" but the bottom of that looks like tooth decay. or ergot. (just asking to clarify, and to learn)

Are you saying that's bad and is because you didn't shake at 100 percent? That never got to 100 percent.

Why do subtrop need shake at 100 percent?

Sorry, it's contaminated because it never fully recovered from shaking (post 100%).

The blue is normal (for my cultures) after shaking, the whole jar was deep blue/blackish looking the next day, and the myc will slowly turn white as it recovers.

The bottom portion hasn't recovered, assuming bacterial.

All jars should be Tested by a shake 'N wait before spawning, it's a very simple but accurate diagnostic tool of the health of one's spawn.
Which can be used to determine spawn:Sub ratio.

I'm still gonna spawn this with a higher spawn or lower sub ratio. And try to exclude as much as possible of that area. It's been consolidating for a month at least before this last shake.
So it should fruit within 2-3 weeks of spawning whether or not it'll see the full month of pin-maturity is a gamble.

These are much darker looking in person...but are good And had great runs.

Perhaps I'm way too excited but damn seeing these adorable little pan cyan TTBVI pins popping up this morning made me super happy!!😁

My first try failed horribly and made me waste tons of time which bummed me out so I threw the pf tek away and made it this far at least! I just hope they'll keep growing nicely.
