Take the plin from this plate onto a new one, that's the way cloning works. Ideally the growth from it should be quite even, and since it is the first pin, theoretically it should be a culture of good fruiters.

Potency is not guaranteed with first plins, so maybe don't suddenly put all the eggs in one basket, keep a more MS line from that plate until potency is established.

I think I've shot myself in the foot by trusting plins a few times without questioning anything.

I cloned a plin once but I suppose it was actually this circular mutation. Potent but pain in the ass to harvest.

So am I just removing the Plin itself with no agar and placing it on new afar? Like a small precision cut?

If you have tweezers you can flame them and use them or just stab the plin with your scalpel and place it on the agar.
When you pull the plin off it will leave the agar behind.

Yes.

If you bring mycelium with it, it's not for sure a clone.

I cut off the head and bottom, (head to make sure it doesn't open a little and drop spores).

Has to be done before any plins drop spores of you don't have a clean clone.
Push the head into a clean plate:

Plin pushed into a fresh plate

Here's one that grew out:

I have to account for unsteady hands, so Ill put a plin on a plate, dice my sample and then take that sample to a 2nd plate. Sacrificial plate bc my hands suck.

Ive left the head on the sacrificial plate too, smacked it around so it's gills down, and then considered that an MS plate. 🤷‍♂️

One in the bag is better than two stones.

Couple of sequesters that are looking pretty good:

First is blue oyster which is being super aggressive and growing right over the slide covers:

Second is psilocybe mexicana (Strain-A):

You wild for this one. PCing agar and hot pouring are a pain in the ass to me. Next behind to hydrating and PCing grains

I still love HGs man. Easy peasy and I can use them right away.

Ive got 100 autoclavable plastic petris and I used them all once and kinda put them on the shelf until I get off my ass and sterilize them. I even bought those silicone bread pans someone recommended, which work out perfect in holding 12 plates real snug. I really do need to do that..

Very baccy? T1 TTBVI plates. Is it worth getting a sample from anywhere on these? Pretty aggressive for 7 days though. Yesterday these plates looked different, as in good different.

12 o cliock in second picture looks good to me. i'd transfer from there, then transfer again asap once you have a nice leading edge on the new plate
