The 3rd generation NVGs you can buy as a civilian are $3000+ the kind the pilots on that heli have are even more expensive and better.

The ones in that link are basically a toy in the NVG world

At the end of day we were given bad options all the way across the board for president. The republicans were scared to go against Trump and the democrats had a coverup on their hands (Biden mental state) and their answer was Kamala.

Meanwhile Americans are all busy arguing politics. We got fucked by both parties. I mean seriously Trump and Kamala are the best they could offer up?

It's become apparent that no one who wants the job is really qualified and no one who is qualified wants the job.

Maybe Mayor Pete is qualified...I guess no one is qualified and electable who wants the job.

I’ve seen enough. ATC did nothing wrong. They told the Blackhawk to watch the traffic landing on 33. The Blackhawk replied they had the plane in sight. They were supposed to fly below 200 feet north of the bridge and follow the prescribed path for helicopters which is to hug the DC/Maryland shoreline. The crash occurred at 300 feet in the middle of the river. Even if they had misidentified the plane, they were flying at the wrong altitude.



Actual atc radar image showing the collision occurred at FL 003. And there should be no confusion about AGL or ASL since the river here is tidal and only 1-2 feet above sea level.
