The army shouldn’t be training there period. ATC should have not allowed the chopper to cross either. I think it’s a failure on multiple levels. Nothing to do with DEI. The FAA has been getting progressively worse for the last 25 years. Through Republican and Democrat administrations. They need to revamp their protocols to keep up with the times. One thing for certain in all of this, there is significantly more air travel each year and they rely on old policy.

Safety is the reason we’re constantly widening and improving roads and vehicle safety features. Same need to be done with the airline industry

Suddenly, everyone's an expert.

Altitude wasn't the issue because even if he were at 200 feet, that would be way too close to the airplane.  The issue is obvious.  The heli pilot made a mistake.  He was told to hold and wait for the plane to pass, but he didn't do that.

I spent  25 years working on airplane’s. I’ve dealt with FAA inspectors and I was in the military.

#3 doesn't seem to be a factor in this collision.  The pilot saw the plane, and he could see it on ADS-B.  He was an experienced pilot, but he made a mistake this time.

There is a hard ceiling for a reason and the pilot blew right through it. Looks like he gained over 100 ft in the last 20 seconds before crash.

The plane rose to 400 as well. Either he tried to avoid crash or the plane broke in half and the front nosed up.

If the helicopter had flown 150 feet below the plane on approach, there still would have been an accident, most likely.  If not, that would have been a near miss which would have required a report to the FAA.  Two aircraft should never be that close in the air unless they are flying in formation.
