Oh good call I didn’t see that. I’ve always done 2:1:1 verm:BRF:water, and sometimes that’s been too wet, depending on the verm.

Some mushrooms break veil way earlier than the others, but I would like to harvest at one time, is it okay to let them sit and wait a few days until the others have caught up? Doing so would allow the mature mushrooms to sporulate on top of the cake, would that be a problem?

I had tall one's come up first and picked them to avoid sporulating, some say spores are no big deal. Basically to me I just put the tall one's in the dehydrator and waited for the others to evenly get tall...

Hey, if I wanted to space my round stainless rack above the base of the PC could I use these?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N1RZWC4

I've seen people use 3 quarts below the rack and was curious would these work?

I'd basically use four of those small 8 ounce jars with top exposed, not covered so it would hold water in the water and then a rack then my grain bags then another rack on the grain bags...

Will they crack or be fine?

Thank you...

If you're talking about just lifting the rack like above the water...??? I just use 4x tuna fish cans. I've kept 4x smaller thinner and 4x the bigger ones. I just drilled a hole in the center of the bottom of each can to let the air escape. Any can will do. It just needs to be the basic height that you are seeking. If you have tin-snips, then you can cut the cans down to whatever height you want. You can do 4x or a triangle of 3x. Either should be more than stable enough.

Yes, get the rack above the water. I'll be doing 4-4qt bags in the PC, so I've been told both the PC for 3.5hrs but also to keep the bags above the water so just trying to get my water to last that long and the bags above the water...

I like the can model you shared but do you think the glass mason jars will also work with the mason opening above?

Thanks,

:stoned:

Almost ready to start my first grow, getting a couple spore syringe and jumping into AGAR.

How many PP dishes should a noob start off to start isolation? Plan on doing 3 different types, and not like the practice won't hurt, maybe 3-4 plates each?

I was swimming in agar dishes when I first started. My advice would be just go crazy and get as much practice in as you can getting your technique down.

There’s no right or wrong answer here, just do as many as you have time for or can handle in your workspace.

Looks like I need to over buy on pp disks.

Getting four syringes, and thinking of doing both BOD's and Pastywhyte TEK's on 5 each on AGAR, for 40 total on MS.

This will be interesting, will be going at least 3 wide for each isolation so will stack up for sure.

Should do some dry runs...

So the spores wouldn’t be detrimental to my grow if I do happen to let them drop?

A non-polar solvent should remove any parafilm or residues.

When the stale sweat smell becomes an issue to the people around me. When someone yells at me, it’s usually a good indicator pants need a change.

I change my pants as often as I take a shower. Only when I want the old lady to touch my junk.

Would growing panellus stipticus via cakes be the best option for just a side novelty project?
