Quick Question

Of course after reading many different Grow articles im going to get different ways of doing it..

I have 2 questions as of now,

1. Im assuming they really arent grown on rice cakes? I never see anyone say put the rice cakes into the jar. When the refer to rice cakes, is that what we're making with the sugar water and vermuculte ?

2. Ive noticed a few different methods to heating jars up. One of them says to keep the lid loose, wouldnt this create moisture within the jar? Also one said put the aluminum foil inside the jar, not on the outside. Some say tighten the jars tight.. Any advice on which works best??

I'll go ahead and answer your first question and let someone else answer the latter since it's debatable. When people mention "rice cakes" they are referring to the PF jars filled with a brown rice flour/vermiculite substrate, not the kind of rice cakes you eat.

1. No they aren't really rice.....no you don't use sugar water.

2 cups of Verm
1 cup Brown Rice Flour
1 cup of water

2. I kept my jars lids loose....not real loose.
I never used Alum foil on PF cakes at all.....and never had any problems.

My first trip was this past weekend with my buddy, his first also.  We both chomped down 2 grams and tripped pretty hard, not hard enough :wink:

Also, Ever tried a Bag or whatever it is that is premixed? 

Also, PF TEK - Psilocybe Cubensis growing techniques - updated april 17 1999 , seems to be one of the worst written Grow Guides ive seen.

Thats the whole problem with that system, its not ever exact, its always guessin' or saying this works but this works too but this might work better if u do it this way.. I want straight forwards facts.

No, you're confused I think. The PF Tek is very specific about what to get and what to do. Please read the link I provided and follow that Tek if you would like to succeed your first time around.
