It has nothing to do with Trans people. It has everything to do with Biden making cabinet picks based on their "diversity" score rather than their effectiveness for the role.

Trump made horrible picks too, though, so it's not like this is particularly out of the ordinary.

Far as I can tell, she's quite competent for the role.

Though I won't discount the possibility of her status as trans being publicized for political reasons. Which is kind of a problem, because the whole point of trans acceptance is that nobody gives a shit. Which means nobody writes articles pointing out her status as a trans woman.
