How hard is it to say the allegations are horrendous and I trust in our legal system to blah blah blah?

That's a great question I also asked my self two days ago.

I don't know.

Because someone doesn't behave like you think they "should" doesn't really mean much

@rj- since you have to be godly to know the heart of a person, why defend trumps
statements, since one would need to be godly to know that he WASN'T genuine in
any of his statements?

It seems the trump crowd claims his statements which confirm their world views
are genuine, and statements that cause cognitive dissonance in them are trolls or natural human errors.

Ultimately we shouldn't assume our judgments about what people say have any truth or meaning. But that's difficult to do because it goes against our judgmental nature.

Maybe you should answer the question.

Since, by your own words, one would have to be godly to knkw true intent of a person,
why would you come to trumps defense at all?  Do you claim to be godly?

Trump is not reserved in the least at calling out people who are accused of crimes. Fuck just two weeks ago he was tweeting out FBI wanted posters, but the one person nearly everyone right and left can agree is a total lowlife pedo scumbag, he wishes well? Seriously. 🤦‍♂️

It’s kind a shitty thing to joke around about as you are running for president. So even if he was joking (he wasn’t), it’s still in bad taste, and that reflects poorly upon him. Trump says retarded shit all the time, his base absolutely loves it, and they admit as much. So why act like he doesn’t say stupid shit? It’s literally a part of why he’s loved. Hell, I love him for it too.

I agree and the point is not to take his words very seriously at all. After 4 years of doing this stuff, people are still getting triggered.  Hell, Trump knows he likely only has a few months of the public spotlight and he's going to milk it for all it's worth.

Do you think trump craves attention so much that he thinks extending well wishes
to an alleged pedo ring-leader is a good way to "milk it for all it's worth"?

I do. His ego rules him. While he says endless retarded shit, he's only mildly retarded (rhetorically speaking, or well his rhetoric is fully retarded but his mental state mildly so), but he's let his ego take over and seems to believe that he's so great people will believe everything he says. That's lead him down a path where he will talk just to convince himself that he sounds smart. Meanwhile everybody (almost everybody) listens in bewilderment.

In my opinion, the smartest people are wiling to admit ignorance. While the laziest "intellectuals" will continue to talk even even when they are full of it. There's a thread with many fast responses going on here in the politics forum that is a nice example of such behavior.

It is a neutral statement.  People say "I wish (so and so) well" about people they don't care for all the time.  It's often used when you DON'T care for someone, but I won't push that because that's not always the case.

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

He said it twice.  He's the top official of the executive branch. People under him are literally the ones who investigated and are prosecuting her. Imagine if your boss announced that he/she is rooting for you to fail.

If she does well, the prosecution fails. If the prosecution succeeds, she won't do well. His comment is the same as wishing his subordinates would fail.

That’s not a normal thing for a normal person to say about a child sex trafficker .

Here's what Kayleigh McEnany had to say:
Quote:
what the president was noting is that the last person who was charged in this case ended up dead in a jail cell, and the president wants justice to be served for the victims in this case and he prefers this to play out in a courtroom.

"Have you talked to him about that?" asked host Bret Baier.

"I have spoken to him about that," McEnany replied.

So now we're to rely on other people to decipher what the president meant to say?

And you'll take that decipher's meaning from the horses mouth (press sec.)?

Dude an you say I'm being nitpicky. You're the one making wild inferences about
some made up hidden cryptic code the president is speaking in, when it suits your worldview,
and calling everyone else make believers when they point out the obvious to you.

Holy fuck how do you end up at the above quote from "frankly I wish her well"?

If trump desired to see this play out in court why didn't he just say that.

You're about to take koods champion belt..

Do you have a better interpretation of what Trump meant than someone who talked to him about it does?

Since that interpretation doesn't make sense, pretty much any interpretation that does is better.
