I still don't understand what Trump could have done to prevent the job losses.  Sure, he could have done a better job of having tests and respirators available, but the job losses are the result of the country actually doing something (keeping people home).  Can anyone please help me understand?

The man who takes credit for everything good that happens under his watch is also responsible for the bad shit that happens under his watch.

This situation in this country is far worse than anywhere else in the developed world and a lot of that has to do with the complete incompetence of the federal response.

Exactly, it's very convenient to blame Trump for the US being a massive failure in this case, but it wouldn't matter who was in office because of the factors listed above.

Of course the media were always out to get him which did not help. Also, in retrospect, the US were fucked from the beginning with our worship of individualism. China just executed a full lockdown of 400,000 people after 18 cases - it may be authoritarian but it works.
