1500 workers were laid off or furloughed from Trump properties. We know a lot of illegals are employed there. So no benefits or stimulus checks. That's OK because I heard, here and from the President, that they're criminals.

Can criminals spread disease to non criminals? It will be hard to tell whose a bandit with everyone wearing masks.

the last few things koods wrote, are troubling.
These people shouldn't be allowed in.
We also should let people make choices about the risk of these pills. these pills don't seem very consistant.
I heard under 40% sucess.
Regardless, when you have a disease guests killing 1000 a day, you should get whatever is available and within reason. These pills aren't some 10,000$ thing.

I'm not sure which deserves more public suspicion. The Democrats and Biden saying they probably won't do their convention, or Trump insisting that the GOP will.

The Democrats look like they just want to do things in the dark, and Trump who is really running uncontested just wants a big celebration of himself with no concern for contagious interaction.

I am also looking with skepticism at the Dems wanting to postpone primaries for health reasons, and the GOP resisting efforts for more vote by mail in November.

Read an interesting piece about Taiwan's response to covid touted as the most effective in the world. This is because they were hit hard by SARS in 2003 and established an excellent emergency plan which got implemented the moment the Wuhan drama developed.

This is despite Taiwan being excluded from WHO who caved in to China. So the country with the best systems for dealing with pandemics could not share its expertise with others because of the political pressure from China - who botched their own initial response to covid and then gave it to the rest of the World.

Also - will the media ever "fact check" Cuomo's claim that New York needed 30,000 ventilators?

Where I currently live the covid response was actually modelled on Taiwan's. Things here are looking really promising - the lockdown was well timed, competently executed and now being followed by a full quarantine of the inbound travellers. As a result the case load is low and the hospitals are at only 50% of capacity. So far we only had one death from over 1000 cases.

Ì have been reading about SARS and it's hard to say why we managed to contain it but covid got away. SARS was just as infectious and also had asymptomatic transmission. It was also way more lethal so just as well it never spread globally.

In two minds about the federal reserve of the medical commodities like face masks and gowns. Imagine you are in charge of a community-owned stash of neccesities for 50 households. When an emergency comes they will all make claims at once, ask for more than they need (just in case) and will hoard any surplus they end up with for the future. As a result all messaging will be negative - the way to get stuff ahead of others is to sound more dramatic. Yes, there is the economy of scale argument but any system based on central planning has inherent inefficiencies.

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Or he might have confused it with Tokyo, which has a metropolitan area population of around 38 million.

Seoul does have a pretty huge metropolitan area population of around 26 million.

It's like when Dan Quayle mistakenly corrected a school child on the spelling of potato. He was so dumb everyone assumed George H Bush picked him as impeachment insurance.

But as far as the Seoul Korea thing, we probably shouldn't be worried about an invasion from the North. We should be worried about Trump nuking them as payback for Pearl Harbor.

Went to costco in rego park queens last week.  No lines, empty store, got everything i needed.  In and out in 30min.  Tough times for sure! 

The media love blowing this virus out of proportion and my family had it!  Trump is still my choice in 2020.  Its too bad he can only have 2 terms... OR CAN HE?!
