The people. They're a bunch of assholes who hate poor people, and minorities, they think the planet is their eternal landfill, they like starting wars that we can't pay for all over the world, which kill countless innocent people, and they are altogether wayyy too religious, so they could fuck right off this planet and I wouldn't miss a wink.

Baltimore rent is like 1/3 of dc and you are essentially in the same place. You can drive from downtown Baltimore to downtown DC in 40 minutes. If the hyperloop (which they have started their test construction around the NSA to arundel mills) happens then it will take 10 minutes.

very true, i think socioeconomic factors are more to blame then the general location, poor is poor and generally limited education as well as opportunities to follow. this leads to disgruntlement and projection of blame to scapegoat their responsibility. i grew up in the upper midwest and there was just as much redneck hick hatred up there as there was when i briefly lived in the deep south. it is a symptom of the divided lower class, taught to hate one another rather then the people keeping us down.

I've looked into alternative ways of life, such as this. I think it would be a lot of work to find your groove, but it could be pretty awesome. You can put solar panels on top of an RV. Once electric engines become cheaper, it may be a pretty good option.
