And picking life is one of the most noble things one could do. There's downsides to life for sure, but there's a lot of experience to be had through them. There's nothing to gain in paradise because everything is perfect. We wouldn't have anything to do. It'd be maddening for human beings to not have anything to do. The richest thing you can earn for yourself is experience.

Man it's kind of fucked up reading the questions you proposed and realizing they are all questions I asked as well as many other im sure...

Nothing new under the sun as they say... It's all been learned before.

What is there just an endless number of us who come searching for answers? Did we do this before?

Just a disclaimer, I don't mean to sound aggrivated, but I was determined to read through that intro block, and I managed to, but it was subtly aggrivating. Maybe I need to smoke a bowl :shrug:

For starters, because you once considered yourself an atheist, does not mean you've been in the mind of every athiest, we're a diverse bunch I assure you.

I also enjoyed the quick wit of Jordan Peterson's Bible series for a while, but I came to be bothered by some key aspects;

Most notably, he makes a lot of bald assertions. By that I mean, he says a lot of things as if they are facts, uncovered by the use of reason, when in reality they are possible explanations. It's a decent start, but you don't  get to just stop there and say "obviously this is what happened".
There could be thousands of equally possible explanations, how do we know which is correct?

Secondly, I consider his work as that of an apologist, not a scientist.

It is scientifically dishonest to start with predetermined beliefs in the Bible, and try to make the evidence fit what is written. This is called circular reasoning, or more specifically Begging the question .

It may seem controversial but There are things long been written in the BIBLE that contradicts some science theories (eg.) Ever expanding universe according to the bigbang. That even some scientist are having doubts interms of the proven facts according to the doppler effect & redshift despite the $$$ and time involved. Even the last work of hawkins dismisses the infinite expansion which is good. :thumbup:

many scientists are  god fearing christians and cannot think clearly, so we need to be compassionately inclusive and endure the time it takes for data, and interpretation to make sense in their distorted minds. Often they speak or publish before they understand.

hierarchical interference from bible thumping rhythms impedes clear thinking.

I think of it as unfortunate baggage

The real baggage are the west founded churchianity that mines gold(tithing) from the bible belt and also often speaks or publish before they understand Leading to mass blurred thinking.

Every person is gifted with specialty according to his passion to contribute. Einstein with a bright mind didnt listen to the west churchianty hype during his time despite his Jewish background. I can imagine his burden  behind his belief in the Possibility of God.

so I pick a couple of points

so you would rather know the meaning of sex than experience it?
actually life is fine without 'meaning'

2)"The best way to learn something is to talk about it"
so you would rather talk about sex than experience it?
actually experiencing and learning go well together,
in fact its how everyone did their most important learning in childhood.

Pardon my brevity and directness, but since there seems to be such a basic confusion at both the beginning and end, I have skipped the middle.

I think entheogens like dmt and shrooms are doing fine without the bible and how they existed way before Christianity.

I am not against the bible (but against the church) and if you find good in it then why not, and i wouldn't say its perfect (or anything in the universe) because its not god.
