Yeah nice pinset, but not all of them matured. The pinset was far too great for the subs surface to maintain. Looking back I should have pruned a couple away to make room for others to mature.

&&It was Adler sawdust supplemented w/bran also threw in a handful of coffee grounds.

Been real busy with Halloween and the baby this weekend. He was a minion :laugh:

Anyway, finally got around to getting to look at my stuff. Have my first ever confirmed spore germination on agar.

Koh Samui from print, and I couldn't pick a more favorite strain to get to start with. I'm real happy. May not seem like much to some, but this is a personal big moment in this hobby for me. Can't wait to see what's next.

Nice going moab.

Can't tell if mine are dirty or if myc was spread through a little pool of water that dried up overnight.

The lil culture piece was basically floating around and I didn't notice until I set them up on the shelf, the next morning the piece settled down and doubled in area. And now there's small white circle areas of growth all over the top.

Just got done doing more. Did 3 Z Strain, 5 Koh Samui. One of the plates I don't think I got any spores on. Plate K4 to be exact. We'll see.

Yep see the indention in the towel on the right side? I open the container, place it upside down on the rack, set the lid to the right, have the scalpel and print in middle, open print, scrape print, shut print, lift plate with left hand, inoculate, set scalpel down,with the left hand holding the plate, simply set it down where the lid is facing open up, and press it shut.

Rinse and repeat. Seem like good process? Nothing ever touches the towel except the very top outside of the lid.

I think I made the mono holes too close to the substrate though. Oh noes...
