It is the sad fact of this society we're living in, it is something we must come to accept and face if we are to ever evolve on a species wide scale. I understand your confusion, it's something which haunts my mind every day, because everyday I find this world descending into the fascistic totalitarian  and funnily enough slowly moving towards a hedonistic dystopia, it becomes more trance-like everyday.
