Do you realise there are many creation stories?

Ironically, evolution can arguably be traced to pagan mystery schools, as can many socalled, 'modernist' concepts.

Fossils?

You date the layers by using the fossils, and the fossils by their layers, an example of circular reasoning.

There are also fossils, which seem to appear in the wrong strata, or they cross several.

Carbon-dating?

This was an interesting example, because you assume the rate of deposition and decay are uniform. Yet, you claim catastrophism is the cause for evolution.

At least one mammoth showed radically different dates, within the same carcass.

Also, you might have used an isotope, with a longer half life, to test on what you call a geological time scale. In cosmological time, would any of the isotope be left. This is simple algebra.

Quote:
Studies observing the evolution of fruit flies and other species?

There is no observed example, in which new information resulted in a beneficial mutation.

If such a thing did happen, it would have been artificial, not a result of natural selection, so might be considered an example of intelligent design.

btw, has science never misinterpreted data in favor of longstanding dogma. Hiding behind an establishment hardly makes you unbiased.

Most hate-filled and ignorant statement ever made here. That kind of malicious faith no one needs.

Of course, if you had the slightest, tiniest, remotest bit of evidence that The Faithful do not get cancer, then I might listen. Alas, you have nothing but darkness in your heart.

Please leave. :bye:

eh bill hicks is an asshole.  I noticed it when I listened to his cds and his whole attitude and approach to god and the bible is very roughshod.  He makes some good points and all that, but I kind of put two and two together that (I think) it is those types of hate filled people who get cancer early.

The main flaw is that it is not even remotely a theory, but just a bald assertion that only the feeblest of minds would latch onto.

my mind is anything but feeble and I eat this creationism theory up like its butter.  and to be honest, I've said this already, but it's more of a feeling  and less thought and logic oriented.  Logic has taught us that the earth was flat, that the sun rotated around earth, that astrology is not real nor provable, but FEELS, it's the feels that point me in the right direction.  Definitely gotta keep this in check though, one wrong feeling, taken too seriously, and next thing you know it you have your own bill mahr show where you deny gods existence and mock him on the weekly.  No thanks to that, I'd rather just risk an asinine shroomery post or something.

logic also told us that we were wrong about the earth being flat, logic fueled math that took us to the moon. "feels" helped lead to the holocaust. "feels" led to slavery. I think I'd rather be wrong about the earth and then later correct my error than accidentally enslave an entire race on a gut feeling. and what about the little children who get cancer? I suppose they have also wronged god in some way.

I don't the answer to that...kids that get cancer...but they say god gives everyone the same chance...so wrap your head around that one.  Maybe they have a previous spiritual debt that they are to settle in their childhood.  I ain't about having that knowledge.  Knowledge and logic that also created the a bomb that could destroy the world, logic that was applied to psychologoy to appeal the german people during the holocaust.  feels are more legit if they are the real deal.

it's the feels that aren't the real deal that scare me. it's easy to say "you just know"(not saying that you said that)when the feeling is right but how could you really know for sure. logic isn't biased, but the people who use it to support their "feels" are. feels scare the shit outta me

feelings change though and people are able to honestly evaluate their feelings (sometimes) they know the difference between right and wrong, they just feel like doing wrong.  I think it's always the logic that they use to explain and rationalize it.  I think less people do it because they feel like being bad.

Apparently you weren't even listening to me and didn't even read my posts.

I said that I RESPECTED your right to religion and even told you "more power to you" for believing. I wasn't trying to "change your mind" with rhetoric at all.

I simply said that people are going to debate you IF you make claims about the scientific validity of creation or the bible and use it as proof.

While YOU certainly have the right to believe such a thing, using something unsubstantiated as proof of something is surely going to draw some criticism and attention, and you should be ready for when such a thing happens.

What is most telling is that it is extremely difficult to distinguish a spoof Creationist website from an actual Creationist website as they are both ridiculous, full of error and self-parodying. :ohwell:

Do you think the world would be a better place if scientists had slumber parties and talked about their feelings, instead of doing research and tests?
