Love vs. Lust
    #15147268 -

what are your guys' and gals' thoughts on this matter?

i've been thinking about it a lot lately. i remember a time long ago where i had much less capacity for lust. and the feeling of being in love with life and people just feels infinitely times better... then my mind slowly became corroded through pornography and different things, i developed a serious lust for drugs and achieving feelings that just weren't natural, etc.

so anyway.. i've been working on healing this part of myself.. afterall they say lust is one of the 7 deadly sins

 :feelsgoodman:

Love is giving all of yourself to someone, lust is wanting all of someone else :datass:

Agreed. Have you ever been in a relationship with someone only because you're physically attracted to them? The usually don't last very long, I know mine didn't lol

If the other person think you love them it'd be manipulative, but it's a different kind of relationship to be sexually interested but not emotionally involved with your partner, like so many high school/college relationships. I've been in a few situations like that, and it usually ends well if one of the partners isn't trying to make more out of it, even if they are hollow relationships.

Love is fo' real.

We may be insignificant but we are still magnificent natural beings.

One thing our brains or consciousness can do is create a whole world inside two people.

I'd rather be in a sexual relationship with someone I'm not psychologically attracted to than someone I'm not physically attracted too. Psychological attraction is for friendships and physical attraction is for sex. Combine both and you have what all of us are looking for.

It keeps you from being lonely if nothing else, but I'd say no lol. I don't think it's right to seek that kind of relationship or be in very many. I full-heartedly believe in the virtue of love and think it's plain wrong to be so cold with so many people.

I think the whole idea of finding a woman to love in this society is pretty damn hard.  Lust they love now but only after giving you a background check on the internet.  My last GF advised me my name really meant "petty thief".  Should have slapped the bitch for rubbing that in my face.  After all she only wanted me to rough her up.  Well I was afraid of her after the knife sticking in the cutting board episode during one of her manic events.  So not thanks I am not going to go the way of that bobbit dude that got chopped.

Not really, except that I'm meeting this gorgeous girl next week.

We've spent hours on the phone talking, 3 hours last night. We're like, ARE YOU ME?! It's that sort of common ground and interests.

Just look at dreams. Your brain can create a whole universe inside your head. What if your partner is like a dream come true? Imagine what you could experience in eachother's presence.

And even alone driving around and visiting places I've been in whole different frames of mind that make life awesome. So I'm curious, thrilled, to see what two lovers can do.

I wonder what the sex is like for two people that both have the soulmate syndrom. Probably very good before neuroplasticity kicks in. :satansmoking:

13% of soulmates who marry end up killing their spouse - disappointment and failed expectations and all that. If you go into marriage expecting to be nagged, bored silly and have an awful sex life, then there usually is no problem.

Those are only the ones who are caught. Seeing as how 90% of all murders go unsolved - you do the math.
