If you start with unfounded assumptions, you can arrive at any truth you want.  The splitting of the atom is man's crowning technological achievement?  I thought, in pop culture, it was putting a man on the moon?  In reality, there are far more technical discoveries than splitting the atom.

Some people have dicks that look like mushrooms?  What's that mean to you?

Boy are you wrong. Francis Crick admitted in recent years that he first envisioned the double-helix of DNA while on acid. Do you have any idea how much of 'Silicon Valley' has been influenced by LSD/psychedelics? Both Bill Gates and Steven Jobs are reported to have used them.

that just means that some technological advancements have been made by people who take the drugs. Im not sure what that really says, given that the VAST MAJORITY of technology and science is in fact discovered in the absence of these drugs.

So although I think there is a relationship between open minded thinking and drug use, I don't think that a few interesting cases can be used to make a fundamental association between psychedelics and human technological advancements.
