I think instead of apologizing or making rash judgements on the state of my emotions, it would be far better to substantiate your claims.

Now, taking from what you gave me, you can't prove or disprove that suffering exists because of some larger meaning.

If this is the case, why believe in either of the conclusions? What makes you say that suffering probably does exist because of a deeper meaning in life that we all have?

In my opinion, it is correct to say that you cant prove it because no one has died and returned to say.

However, I would say that my best guess is that it does not at all serve any purpose. It is just what it is, suffering. It can be changed and that is that.

I say this because there is nothing to me that says that suffering exists for these purposes and because clearly 20 000 kids who died yesterday and the day before and the day before and today seems to show otherwise. The reason being this; can you remember your life 100% prior to the age of 5? If it is true that we learn from suffering for something greater, what could a kid possibly learn if ALL he knew was suffering AND more importantly, if the memory of a child is not even developed?

For these strong and factual reasons I believe it makes way more sense to guess that there is no reason for the suffering.
