Things you wish weren't true about the human condition...
    #13881585 -

I wish suffering weren't the norm. I wish there was some sort of objective meaning/purpose to each of our existence. I wish people weren't so cruel to each other whenever they get the chance and/or whenever it benefits them. I wish there were a such thing as "true love", and that everybody experienced it. I wish we didn't have to die.

What do you wish? :sun:

It's one thing to simply enjoy a style of life that one enjoys, but it's another thing altogether to refer to another person's choice as "wrong" or to rationalize their behavior as being pathological or resulting from some sort of inadequacy or failing so as to create a sense of superiority or separation as yet another projection of a personal fear or control issue.

I agree with most everything you stated except for wishing there was an objective meaning/purpose to our existence... I'm just fine with being able to create my own subjective meaning for my life.  Also it might be nice if people weren't so gullible and unintelligent.

What would life be without those things? :yinyang:

Could we know happiness without the context and comparison of suffering?

How do you know suffering is the norm? Most people I see seem happy... except adolescent kids, and that's to be expected.

I feel like some of us have already experienced enough suffering to provide a context for future happiness... no need to have any more.

Many people are gullible and unintelligent, yes.  I'd like to think I don't fall into these categories but who am I to say?

I've heard from more than one source that the human experience (physical reality) is one of the hardest, scariest teachings this Universe has to offer. I think we are learning something very profound from being here.

Gullibility and unintelligence is a part of our "Human Condition"

Consider what 'condition' means- it is a temporary thing highly dependent upon circumstances..

Our human Condition isnt how we are Naturally.. It is something we have done just that with-
Conditioned it..

And in relation to this, and to the OP

Seems to me our conditioning is very natural. What isn't nature?

Good point, that too would depend upon the definition of what "Natural" is..
The mainstream accepted definition is anything to do with the materiel world existing beyond the scope of Humans and their activities.
By that account it's very unnatural..
But to call something Natural means it follows within the laws/essense of Nature..
Is human un-nature, a part of nature?

In that case it would be very natural..

My point still being, Natural or not, The Human Condition, has been Conditioned..
Here's a good question...

What is "The Human Condition"?
Because if it's so Natural, why not just call it being "Human."?

I wish I could expertly convince people that what I am experiencing is in fact real.  I wish to be treated as if what I am experiencing is real.  I wish reality considered those things that are believed to be unreal.  I wish that the seemingly unreal would make an appearance in reality and determine these things that I am experiencing to be real for the others that are involved...:tongue2:

The "Human Condition" is our reaction to what we are.

The secret to engineering the 'human condition' is to continually obscure that kind of knowledge.

Then another question, rhetorically as this is getting away from the OP.

What are we?
