Why do so many members judge Christians on here and then speak about being open minded?

What makes Christianity so bad? I think nothing is wrong with it.

Sure some people get out of hand with how they interpret the bibles teachings, but some people jump out of windows on mushrooms, does that make mushrooms horrible?  of course not.

Yes people have used the name of Jesus to do some horrible things, but do you think that was gods agenda or mans lust for power, what a perfect way to do whatever you want..say god told you to do it.

Use your heads people.

I see posts about people trying to meditate and get to their sacred place in their minds eye, does anybody make fun of these members...No because in this culture (counter culture) things like that are accepted.

what makes one persons beliefs/faith/religion better than another persons?

as long as nobody is doing sum fucked up shit, like raping dogs and putting anal beads in nuns or something like that then why does it matter so much what others believe?

because too many people have died due to personal beleifs. thats why i cant stand the 'true beleivers' who try to put theyre wrong doings onto others. i also dislike christians because the try so hard to convert people.

I'm Atheist but treat everyone as equals....but when i get some dumbass Christian coming up to me and saying i'm going to "hell" because i don't believe in "Jesus", i'm going to retort with "piss off you delusional cunt." or something of that nature...

I agree OP.  A lot of people on here lump all christians in with the stereotypical image of an over zealous, literal-bible-interpreting, belief pushing, obnoxious christian who tells everyone else that they're going to hell. I think people like this make up a small minority of Christians. There are millions of Christians who are normal, open minded, tolerant human beings.

exactly, i think many churches are spreading a message of guerrilla warfare, telling the members to force the beliefs down others throats but thats not what its about at all.

Most people who hate Christianity are basing there hate off of what certain guerrilla warfare Christians have said to them, they have not even read the bible and dont have any understanding of what its truly about.

Its not about forcing your beliefs on others, its not about judging others...in the bible Jesus loved the prostitutes/beggars/thief's, its about love plain and simple.

Well than riddle me this, why is the church so against gay marriage if it is so CLEARLY STATED IN THE HOLY BIBLE THAT JESUS LOVES HOMO'S? what verse? proof? since you're not ignorant like me you should have something to back up this claim.

Christianity ( based on the books at the end of the bible) Never says anything about God hating fags and killing those who won't be converted but that is what sooooo many "Christian" churches preach.... Figure that one out.

Sure there are many Christians who don't believe in that but at the same time its like people being racist... Those who believe blacks/mexicans and what not are lazy fucks who are an inferior race looks at the statistics about the many who act like such and create gangs and don't get a full education. Rednecks don't know anything but trucks and how to make illiterate babies.... It all stems from somewhere and yet there is some element of truth in it all. Yet no one sees everything we just generalize on the big picture:shrug:

If you've been in and broken from Christianity you'd know why they are the powerhouse and yet so many people hate them. Even in their mass organization they aren't truly one at all!

I just personally don't like being preached to when i know the basis of Christianity's teaching is basically lied about. I guess just with reading the bible, from what i see, it is portrayed wrongly and misinterpreted by these religious leaders. Another thing that irritates me is the fact that religion itself cannot be taxed. So you have all these religious leaders who are billionaires and millionaires preaching bullshit to these gullible people, taking their money because they think its the best thing to do for 'the lord'. It's just sad to see so many people be used for money and put fear into. Other then that i have nothing against other peoples religions, its their choice. Sometimes they do act holier than thou which is also annoying. 'I'm christian so I'm better than you' mentality is annoying.  I see it a lot. No problem with being spiritual at all of course :smile: Just be a little open minded to other ideas as well and stop preaching to me.

As far as this site goes when addressing Christianity, this site tends to be a domain of questioning social norms and societal infrastructure.  We don't let the government or schools tell us what is good or bad, we decide that for ourselves, so I think people question Christianity and its followers because it's an easy (and sometimes deserving) target. 

Christianity has a reputation for hypocrisy, misinformation, corruption, and inequality.  So for people who defend open mindedness and equality, Christianity is a great threat to those moral ideals.  Anybody who wants to wear Christianity on their sleeve might have to face the repercussions of doing so, even if they are a harmless person who means well. 

If I want to tout I'm an atheist, I'll expect those to defend their beliefs for those that deem me a threat, but you can't argue with reason  :hehehe:

Beliefs seem to be half of humanities problems.  Being truly open-minded requires you to not have any beliefs.  If you mind is made up then its not open to new evidence.

I agree it doesn't help to bash people for having beliefs but then neither does it help when people with conflicting beliefs start bashing each other or worse goto war and kill a load of innocents in the process.

If they want my opinion I would tell them that they shouldn't believe anything 100% all we have are best guesses.
