Dream creatures..
    #6667122 -

Lately I've been encountering some creepy/mysterious/strange creatures in my dreams.

Ive always been a vivid dreamer. I eventualy learned how to control some of my dreams. I learned how to fly, or just do fun physical stuff like jumping around in 0 gravity and shit! A couple of times I have tested a dream by punching a guy in the face.. don't ask me why.. I knew I was in a dream so there would be no reprocussions. Also grabbing for the nearest female is always fun! Though I haven't dreamt like that in a long time.

I also experience sleep paralysis.. this happens usually when I fall asleep during the day.. anytime between 12 pm and 8 pm. I fall into these vivid fukin dreams and sometimes I'll wake up, but I can't move. It takes me a while to wake my body up, and it's always a little struggle :P. I am always aware that I am paralyzed and I have to try and *shake* to set my body free from the paralysis.

Over the past couple of years, when I awake into sleep paralysis, I have been encountering some strange entities.. and when it happens it freaks me the FUCK OUT!!!

I will describe one of my latest encounters.

I woke up around 6pm in a paralyzed state in my basement bed (with the TV on.. I could hear it). I could sense something standing by my head.. Then I saw a small leg right infront of my eyes. I sensed a small creature standing over top of me (its left leg directly infront of my eyes, I see it, but nothing else because I cannot move).. I sensed a gremlin/leprichon type of creature.. I could hear it breathing.. then (this is what freaked me out the most), I felt a couple of cold, small fingers touch my neck. As if it were curious as to how I would react.. A curious little creature indeed.

So, like always, this angered me. Most likely due to the fact that I'm not too keen on dream goblins playing around with me without my consent!

I am paralyzed, and I feel this little dudes fingers on my neck so I decide I need to get out of the paralysis. I begin to breathe VERY heavily.. like an animal in a panic. Eventualy I let out grunt so loud that the Leg vanished infront of my eyes, and the feelings of the fingers on my neck disappears.

Thanks to that loud grunt/shake, my body is no longer paralyzed. I get up, and glance around the room.. I'm a little spooked.. and confused.. but this sort of thing has happened to be a few times.

Last night, something happened that hasnt happened to me before. (this was during normal sleep hours). I was dreaming that I was taking pictures standing ontop of rocks with a friend. Often times In dreams I get this dreaded fear of heights (that I dont have in my waking life!). SO in my dream, I started talking to my friend about the fact that in my dreams, I get this fear of heights! (weird huh, talking about my dreams inside of a dream).

Anyway, thats not the highlight of the dream (just something interesting).

As I was dreaming I began to hear my grandmother calling my name (she sleeps in a room in the same floor as mine). I'll say that my name is Rupert.
"Rupert!... Rupert!... Rupert!...". The callign of my name gets so vivid that I awake in the dark.

But I am paralyzed, once again.

Then I sense my mother standing beside my bed. She is watching me sleeping. I am conscious, but I cannot move, and my mother doesnt know this. She starts to caress me. (On my shoulder/back if I remember correctly). So I begin to try the "shake" manuever to get out of the paralysis! I start breathing heavily aswell, because I want to be able to tell my mother that I have been conscious the entire time and see what she has to say about it! Eventualy my breathing and shaking are intense enough that I break out of my paralysis.

This startles my mother and she jumps back! Now that I am able to move I look directly at her, soon to realize that it's not my mother atall!
She is some female entitity.. she knows now that I am awake. I can see her, and as soon as she realizes this (within a second of me startling her) she moves and quickly camoflauges into the wall. I'm looking dead at her and can kind of make out her silhouette. I am looking at it, and as seconds pass, the visual begins to fade, but the idea of her does not. It takes me about a minute to work up to courage to turn on the light. Ofcourse.. nothing. And It can be attributed to the way the light from the city sky and moon were shining into my room through the blinds.

At this point im fuckin shook. What the hell was that? It hasnt been long since my last encounter from these dream entities.
I can describe the entitity as a calm, caring female. She was wearing a dress I believe, and one of those white head-coverings shits that meninites wear (I think.. she was wearing something on her head).

So these are my two latest encounters. Everytime they happen, It is a hard struggle for me to want to go back to sleep. They fuckin scare me. They are too real. I can *feel* them to the fullest. I can sense their presence. And now Ive been able to seethings!

I know that If i succomed to the experienced, everything would be alright, but they're just too real! I cannot let it just fly by. I feel things touching me, while I'm consciously paralyzed. What would you do?

I dont know what it is.. too many mind altering substances? I dont think so.. Ive had similar experiences before I ever touched any drugs.

Usually I forget about these vivid dream sleep paralysis experiences. Last night got a little too vivid.

I might sound like some scared little kid, and to be honest I'm getting the chills just writing this. I am a 20 years young, not scared of many things. I feel like a scared little kid right now.. talking about these dreams.

I have never fully described these dreams before to anybody, (Like I said, I usually just forget/shrug them off), but last night was definately too much.

Anybody out there with any comments? Similar experiences?

What is happening to meduring these bouts of dream-sleep paralysis?

I need some answers.. maybe I'll talk to a reiki master..

Thanks to anybody that actualy took the time to read this whole post. The gramar/writing in general suck but I am tired. Going to bed...

Trying not to let the bed bugs bite tonight...

I get sleep paralysis as well. These hallucinations that you are experiencing are called Hypnagogic (sleep onset) Hallucinations and Hypnapompic(waking up from sleep)Hallucinations. I get these along with the sleep paralysis as well. I have seen little kids walking along my bed, women standing on my computer desk and random VERY detailed people just doing various activities in my room.

I dont understand why they have to be people/creatures.

And why can I feel them touching me? Cold fingers.. Caressing..

One time I felt a person crawl up beisde me in bed (my back side) and begin to spoon me. And I've felt creatures sitting ontop of my chest and shit.

These visual hallucinations don't bother me so much...

It's those tectile (?) hallucinations.. the fact that I can feel them so much.. so real.. ugh..

What you are describing has happened for centuries. Many of the old drawings of spirits and demons were directly from these type of dreams.

Yea I'm aware that.. I've seen a show on TLC about them. That was a while ago.

Interesting how people get the almost very similar hallucinations...

Don't be afraid of dream creatures, I find them lovely though I have no idea what they are. I just seem to feel them from time to time, speak to them in lucid dreams and so on... though it happens to me very rarely... like about twice or three times a year... and I wish I could contact them more often.
I KNOW there is a recipe that make you see them, and although I almost see HOW to do it, I find myself unable to do that exact fact that make me see them.
They have different names as guardian angels, higher self, spirit guide, aliens... I think they're the same only our perception on them changes.
Last time I had a contact like that was when I had a lucid dream while I had sleep paralysis, only the dream was not in images. It was in sounds and touches.
I couldn't move, I was aware of what was happening next to me. I could hear the sound of the rain and this guy singing like an incantation. But I didn't try to struggle to get out of sleep paralysis because I had the most extraordinary feeling ever. So I just stood and let it flow. After a while I could feel this hand patting my head. I was like a female presence doing that, that's how I perceived it to be.
So anyways, after "SHE" removed her hand from my head I was able to move.
A few days, maybe even a few weeks after this experience I felt like I've gone to a different level of awareness.

ive met some FUCKED UP dream entities. one time i had a dream i was walking up a staircase in the clouds, and when i came to the top there was a group of the most beautiful mexican women gathered on a marble terrace. i walked up to the group, and one turned around-she was gorgeous and young, maybe about 17. anyways she grabs me and starts making out with me and im like cool, i can get use to this. but then, she stopped moving her lips wile i was kissing her, and her face became rigid. when i opened my eyes to look at her, her eyes were already open, and they were all black, like with no iris, and she instantly turned everything colorless black and white, and she opened her mouth and let out some kind of eeerie unearthly screech. it wasnt loud, it was just sucking me into the sound, and then the later period of the dream is very hard to describe. i felt like i was in a very small grey place, like small small, like 1ft by 1ft, and i knew i was stuck there forever. it sucked ass. then i woke up.

one word: ALIENS

I try to be a serious person in general, I made a post on Alien Dreams while pregnant which I had strange lil creatures to full blown aliens. However you talk about being paralyzed and that tells me "aliens." I'd look up alien beings and abductions to get an idea how that could relate. Or we are all just fricken mad, in a "Mad World"

I used to have the same things, I'm a diagnosed schizophrenic. I know its the last thing you want to hear but from what your writing and the detail you can go into sounds almost identical from the "wrong name calling" to the sleep paralysis. You may be schizophrenic that would be my guess but I could be wrong. Its been almost 10 years since it emerged and I still have the attacks (thats what I call them) every once in a while. So if this doesn't go away you may want to seek professional help, and I'm not trying to be a dick but its probably the best idea.

Are you saying that  you are not paralyzed during normal sleep hours?

What keeps you from acting out what you dream?

I am indeed paralyzed during REM sleep and all that ofcourse!

The thing is that my mind sometimes awake, while my body is still shutdown. I cant move.. it's always a bit of a struggle to shake out of the paralysis.

Yeah, yeah, yeah....I know exactly what you are talking about...of course every one of these experiences is uniquely weird in its own way... these very tactile encounters with shapeshifting entities during dream states is a regular part of my life...started when I was 25 years old, ongoing for the last ten years...sometimes involving sleep paralysis, sometimes not...but always as soon as I pull myself into my earth body the tactile sensations will cease.  My experience is that these entities cannot (or will not) communicate with me while I'm in my earth-body state, however they can still intrude on my earth-body consciousness in a major way...for example waking up to a crashing sound or bright lights shining into my eyes or entities groping me in some way.  This is all happening to my etheric body (or whatever you may call it) but it certainly feels like my earth-body.  I've had experiences where I was certain I would wake up with bruises because of the pain, but there is never any evidence of earth-body harm.

Like you, they don't scare me as much anymore.  Mostly, the entities don't seem hostile.  However, every now and then, I'll encounter an entity that totally freaks me out.  Last week, I had an experience of coming into another entity's energy field while dreaming...visually encountering the dreamscape that entity had created for me (which was not frightening in itself) but I was so absolutely repulsed by the energy that I was feeling from this entity, that I tried instantly to wake up only to be partially blocked by the entity, who was trying to hold me down..I could feel its arm which felt like a giant's arm.

Anyway...interesting to know I'm not the only one experiencing this...I just found this website a couple days ago.

Look at it this way.
Spiritual Entities usually will not do things against your will.
So.. Lets say that during a very intense dream.. you leap out of your body.
Then.. (just an example) .. your dead grandmother wants to give you a hug.
Normally she cannot .. because that could be perceived by yourself in many confusing ways depending on the level of understanding these matters you have acquired.
But now.. You are not there anymore.
So.. it is allowable.
But.. you leap back unexpectedly.
So.. in order to not cause any unwanted effects of the contact .. she masks herself as your living mother , promoting love and caring from her part.
What do you think ?
Just contemplating the possibilites..
It is a great virtue respecting and learning the art of dreaming.
This can attract many entities.
I have personally stopped using the word Hallucination.
But.. thats just me ..

Ya but spiritual entities can make you see that you are a freaky asshole yourself!

I had some kind of ET (well, exactly ET, long arms and all that) freak me out in a dream.....made me throw a pillow at it/him and awake having a seizure wondering why I didn't in reality throw my pillow (it never moved).  Cause in the dream, I was laying on a bed and heard a noise, then noticed ET in a window and as he jumped down to walk by I tried to hit him with the soft fluffy and yelled....damn strange alien, I don't need Uncle Sam invading my house!

That is pretty sweet that your mom sunk back into the wall, remember that the most fearful experiences are the most memorable and life is worth remembering even though not what we can fantasies better.

I will take a creepy dream any day over a frustrating one that applies to "real" perceptions of my waking "ordinary" life.

The scariest dream I ever had ended with sleep paralysis. At the time I slept on the top bunk of a bunk bed, but the lower bunk was just empty. In the dream I was having a sleep over with my cousins at my house. With the exception of my room, my entire hosue was different. It was mansion sized, and the staircase was very wide, curved, with gold railings and red carpet. In fact the whole house seemed to be red (walls, carpet, ceiling, not furniture or anything though). I distinctly remember there being something ominous about the that staircase. In the dream there was only one bathroom in the house, which was downstairs, and everyone was going down to brush their teeth before bed. Because of the aforementioned ominous feeling I didn't want to go, and so I stayed in my room. My mom stayed with me, trying to convince me to go down, clearly somewhat angry and frustrated that I wasn't doing what I was told. For some reason I was sitting on the bottom bunk with her. Suddenly she leaned over and whispered in my ear "God's children are bloody". That's weird enough on its own, but the way she said it...it was the creepiest and scariest moment of my life, literally. I'd never felt anything like that fear, and still haven't since.

After she said that she pulled away and I looked at her, and her pupils were all black, which is a fairly common demonic image as others have pointed out. Still pretty scary, espcially since I didn't know that at the time. Suddenly the lights went out and I could feel claws scratching me and digging deep into me, holding me in place. The lights came back on, but the light was red. Everything in my room was the color of blood and there were these little (about 4 feet tall) demons laughing and dancing while they basically ate me alive.

At this point I woke up. At least I thought I did. I was still scared and desperately wanted the lights back on, but there was no I was getting out of bed and exposing myself like that. I tried to scream for my parents, and then realized that I couldn't move my mouth. I immediately realized that I couldn't move anything else either. At this point the lights came on, and it was the blood color again. I basically relived the latter part of the dream, from the red light onward, as if it were really happening to me. After about 3 minutes of absolute torture it seems I finally found the ability to use my voice. I actually didn't realize it at the time. In my world I just saw my parents rushing into my room and turning the lights on and everything disappeared. They told me the next day that they heard me screaming "like I was being eaten alive by a tiger" which is kind of an odd and coincidental way of describing it...

It took me over a year to be willing to walk into my room with the lights out without someone standing right behind me. I've almost died a few times in my life, and have been in just generally bad situations, but nothing even almost compares to what I felt that night.

The point is: don't be too upset about sleep paralysis. It sounds like your experiences haven't been anything that should really have a long term negative impact. I still get a little freaked out when I think about my experience when I'm alone in the dark, but realistically it hasn't really had much of an effect on me other than a bad memory. I'm not crazy or anything either. Sleep paralysis is pretty common. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

If you want these experiences to end, it might help you to practice lucid dreaming. It's possible that you may eventually be able to control your experiences. There are also probably other ways, but I haven't done much research on sleep paralysis prevention.

And, if nothing else, at least you know that it's sleep paralysis. You can relax, knowing that even if you have a bad experience, it isn't real, and will end up as nothing more than a vivid dream in your memory.

From Wikipedia entry for sleep paralysis:

Quote:
Folklore

In African culture, isolated sleep paralysis is commonly referred to as "the devil riding your back".
In the Cambodian, Laotian and Thai culture, sleep paralysis is referred to as "pee umm" and "khmout sukkhot". It describes an event where the person is sleeping and dreams that ghostly figure(s) are either holding him/her down or the ghosts can just be near. The person usually thinks that they are awake but is unable to move or make any noises. This is not to be confused with "pee khao" and "khmout jool" which refers to a ghost possession.
In Hmong culture, sleep paralysis describes an experience called "dab tsog" or "crushing demon" from the compound phrase "dab" (demon) and "tsog" (crush). Often the sufferer claims to be able to see a tiny figure, no larger than a child, sitting on his or her chest. What is alarming is that a vast number of American Hmong, mainly males, have died in their sleep prompting the Centers for Disease Control to create the term "Sudden Unexpected Nocturnal Death Syndrome" (see Sudden unexplained death syndrome) or "SUNDS" for short; this is now theorized to be a form of Brugada syndrome.
In Vietnamese culture, sleep paralysis is referred to as "ma de", meaning "held down by a ghost" or "bong de", meaning "held down by a shadow". Many people in this culture believe that a ghost has entered one's body, causing the paralyzed state.
In Chinese culture, sleep paralysis is widely known as "鬼壓身/鬼压身" (pinyin: guǐ yā shēn) or "鬼壓床/鬼压床" (pinyin: guǐ yā chuáng), which literally translate into "ghost pressing on body" or "ghost pressing on bed." The modern scientific term, however, is "夢魘/梦魇" (pinyin: mèng yǎn); notice that the character "魘/魇" (pinyin: yǎn) is composed of "厭/厌" (pinyin: yàn), "to detest", and "鬼" (pinyin: guǐ), "ghost, demon".

Ogun oru is characterized by its occurrence, a female preponderance, the perception of an underlying feud between the sufferer's earthly spouse and a;spiritual' spouse, and the event of bewitchment through eating while dreaming. The condition is believed to be treatable through Christian prayers or elaborate traditional rituals designed to exorcise the imbibed demonic elements.[19]
