As others have said, hard to say when they vary in size. 5 Medium to large mushrooms has me feeling something, as a general rule. 10 and im definitely intoxicated.

Try and weigh them. 30 grams wet is a nice dose in my opinion. That's equivalent to 3 grams dry.

They will last 2-3 days before mold starts to show. Either dry them or eat them.

Hi

a) How often will a 'spot' reproduce during a season?

b) Has anyone ever been 'caught' by police 'picking'? If so, what are possible consequences?

Regards

Yea they will keep re-appearing in a good patch often throughout the season IME.
With the cops, fuck em, if ya in a pickle just tip the shrooms out of the bag and walk away.... Thats all.
But if ya do get caught, play stupid Lol the worst is, if they bust ya pickin they'll either say fuck off home or fine ya and send ya to court, if found guilty, probs a bit of comm service

A patch, in my experience, should hang around for at least a month if not more if conditions allow and it isn't "raped". Everytime i pick mushrooms from a patch, i always leave enough to allow more spores to be distributed and new growth to occur. This way, ive been able to pick from the same patch in good conditions for over 2 months.

As for police, i've never been busted. Had a close call once when they drove past and i was ducked down into a bush, but thats about it. Depending on the amount you had, it would either be a fine or court im guessing. They aren't the most legal things going around.

They should be. Can you put them in the fridge? Also, do not store them in a plastic bag. Will only speed up the mold. Paper bag if anything, just like supermarket mushrooms.

Yeah paper bag, anything plastic like notorious said will speed up mould, though if its crowded ya would probs wanna dry em out on newspaper.
How big was the haul? just those 4?

Hay, whats the deal with drying?

A friend recommended I leave them out for roughly 3 days until hard and crunchy, then what?

What is risk of Mould producing? How can mould be identified?

Once dry can they be left in air tight plastic bag without fear of mould?

What happens if one eats mouldy mushrooms?

Dyslexikd I would eat as many as possible whilst fresh, its different, but up 2 u.
Dry em then store in an airtight bag.
Ive never eaten rotten subs so i personally couldnt tell ya what it would do... probably just make ya feel sick i guess..? Lol.. as long as your airing them out 2 dry they should b fine

hacker they're subs as well..

As for drying, if you want to store them, they need to be dried to crispy dryness. Use a fan to dry them for a day or two until they're fairly hard, then put them in a small sealed container with some damp-rid...

If they're not totally crispy, snap-in-your-fingers, unbendably dry, they'll lose potency over time or go mouldy.

Man, if I had mushrooms growing outside my window I would be the happiest man, hands down.
Next time you pick some from there, cut them at the base of the stem. Just so the myc stays in the ground. Then you will always have them!

I used to have some in my front yard. Im trying to get a patch going in my garden at the moment. Accidentally ripped out a mushroom last night with a tonne of mycelium hanging off it, so i put it in amongst the woodchips in my garden. Also rinsed the container i was storing them in which was covered in spores and tipped all the water onto the same patch, so it should be full of spores.

Whether anything fruits or not is another question. I'll be surprised if it works, not getting my hopes up.
