Wisest advise I've read on here and I completely agree.
Nice downpour of rain in the last 24 hours, good things are upon us it seems.

There's some good rain set to span the whole week down (across?!) here in East Gippsland. http://www.abc.net.au/gippsland/weather/
I might go for a look in a few of the nature reserves around here this week.

No sign of anything but Amanitas so far for me.
This was my first spot on the 14th, pretty dry as you can see:

And took these photos this morning.

I get heaps of these (amongst others) in my front yard so once I know that these are going strong I'll head out for some subs, woohoo.

Cool!
Well I've been around a local nature reserve twice now, and I'm seeing a lot of mushrooms around, though as far as I can tell, no actives. Most of what I'm seeing are very large uneven/flat orange/brown mushrooms with yellow spores, mostly at the base of trees amidst mulch. One of these had the diameter of a volley ball. I'm also seeing some large white mushrooms with hard tops, with patterns a little like turtle shells on them. I had two instances of what I thought looked remarkably like subs, both in animal dung - long, skinny mushrooms with brown/red tops, hollow stems. One instance had brown spores, the other had black spores. Neither stained.
It was great to be in nature again, anyway. I think I'll ask around for the location of some pine plantations.

If we get the forecast rain and showers that we're supposed to over the next few days, they'll be subs around by mid next week.

Until the 20th century, reality was everything humans could touch, smell, see, and hear.
Since the initial publication of the charged electromagnetic spectrum, humans learned that what they can touch, smell, see, and hear... is less than one millionth of reality.

It's a bit hard to tell because they are partly dry - are you sure they are subs?
As per other posts in this, and other threads, don't just rip them out of the ground like that...

yeah i reakon they are subs, but it shows that the conditions aren't quite right yet. They look pretty small. You should have waited a bit longer.

Yeah the reason they were like that is because it was so dry, they were pretty much just sitting on the top of the ground amongst leaves, i would have normally cut them off . keeps the patch goin very strong
It seems cold enough almost, but we just need the rain.
might go back after the weekend and have a look.
