Hello,
I haven't posted in a long time and have noticed the New Zealand thread fading away. I am still finding new specimens of Psilocybe Subaeruginosa and Psilocybe Makarorae.
Please remember to pinch the mushrooms by their stems or cut them at the base with scissors so that the mycelium remains in the ground and is allowed to grow and produce fruiting bodies.
Here are pictures of my finds:

Ah right... I'll remember that in future. I was trying to yank them out as quickly as possible, meeting the 5 0 kind of made me a bit sketchy bout harvesting in the open

Here's a general question: What percentage of shrooms found on shep dung are active, ballpark? Like, what are the chances that the shroom I saw last week sticking out of a pile of sheep dung was active?

I think it's time to get the 2009 Season Thread going.
Nights are cold, days are moderate.
Next week will bring first autumn rains and there was an unofficial frost on the ground around Wellington this morning.
Wood chip gardens are looking chuffed and thirsty with mycelia.
I found the remnants of a few weraroa nz that chanced themselves on the last rains.
I'd start the thread myself if I could. Who's with me?

The New Zealand 2009 thread can be started when someone posts a picture of the first active of the season. Starting official threads before the season starts ends up leading to several pages of BS before the actual finds start coming in.
