I notice alot of cats are ripping the shit out of their patch. Take scissors, do it nice and clean.
Snip the shroom, then walk away, let the mycelium live to fruit another day!

I think the 'burning' is what happens when they stop growing because it's dry and then they go moldy. It's probably like 'black spot' or something. If they dry like this they almost look burnt to a crisp. A little bit of black like on that last cap would be no big deal, personally i'd want to properly dry them or make a tea, i wouldn't want to eat them 'raw'. I definitely wouldn't want to eat them if they were much worse though:

ok, well i might chop em up and drink em with orange juice, im not fussed ill eat em raw even if they tastes shit, doesn't worry me haha. I saw some really old ones, very black, think they were just strophia's though, found so many of them today, pretty easy to tell the difference now though.
the hunt pretty fun, you discover places you wouldn't think were there haha!

it's not the taste, its the mold that will still be alive and infect your gut and make you violently ill for a day or more. It's like eating an old black, mouldy banana. Yum.

I have heard it quoted that if you eat fresh Shrooms you want about 30grams worth, which equates to about 3 dried grams... so basically if one were to dry out 30 grams of fresh shrooms, due to water evaporation etc, they reduce to around 3 grams dried, however maintain potency?
However, a common dossage dried is cited to be 1 gram? and 3 grams is equivalent to a 'large dose' 5 grams being heroic? What is going on... what is rough conversion rates, when people talk about dried grams do they mean home grown (and hence stronger psilocybin content)
Basically what are the weightages for
Fresh Small Trip Fresh Medium Trip Fresh Large Trip Fresh Heroic Trip
Dry Small Trip Dry Medium Trip Dry Large Trip Dry Heroic Trip
and if you are turning fresh into dry, is it a direct conversion, i.e. if you have enough for a fresh small trip, will it equal a dry small trip once dried?
If I make no sense its because im Dyslexik... D.

Mushrooms are considered to be 90% water. Hence, when dried, a mushroom is a 10th of its original weight.
10 grams wet = 1 dry gram. 30 grams wet = 3 dry grams.
Everyone is different when it comes to dosages. People like me enjoy 3 grams or more. In other cases, 1-2 grams is more than enough. There is really no way to tell until you try it out for yourself. I say eat 2 grams (20 grams wet) and see how that goes.
I personally wouldn't say 3 grams is a "large" dose, but some people would. Let us know how go.

dyslexikd to answer your questions.
30 grams is equivalent to 3 grams dry as mushrooms contain 90% water and yes they do maintain potency as long as they are dried and stored properly but, as mentioned earlier they have a slightly different trip when fresh compared to dry. This being due to the loss of a chemical in the drying process. Most people i would think agree with me that fresh mushrooms have a better trip.
Mushrooms vary in potency from one patch to another and one strain to another so 1 gram (dried) of one patch of mushrooms could very well be stronger than 2 grams (dried) of another patch. It basically comes down to trial and error, if you have found mushrooms from a few areas and want to maintain an even potency then dry them out and grind them all together into a powder that way each time you weigh a gram out you know it will be the same although that ruins half the fun if you ask me :P
I have known people to flip out on 1 gram of dried mushrooms and someone else have a blast off 3 grams of the same batch so it all depends on the person as to what a strong trip is. But a generally speaking i would say 1 gram is a weak trip and 5 - 6 grams would be heroic.
I remember having 1.5 - 2 grams (dried) my first time and had a pretty good time but could have definitely gone more :P
Hope this makes it a little clearer and not more confusing
Here is a picture of the spore print you should all be looking for its not the clearest but should help out a little.
