The vertical lines are the gills. Sub caps can be slightly transparent.
Also subs vary dramatically from patch to patch. Subs you find may look nothing like mine. Look at my photos, some of them are orange, some of them are gold, and thats from the exact same patch. It's to do with maturity.

yeah thats the ones! i was taking photo's of them in the bush and then some guy walked past with his dog, looked at my as if i was doing something wrong haha crazy little things though!
I need to find some mulchy areas, there's really not as many spots as i thought there would be, and i don't really wanna go into other people's properties to look for them haha i'm just gonna right all the places i think of down then scope the spots as quick as i can, i don't like the fact most of the spots are where people can see me haha oh well.

Notorious, nice haul man. Very nice.
Scantraxx, if you're in visible areas just try not to look dodgy. Having a camera helps so if anybody stops to ask what you are doing, as happens, just tell them you study mycology and are out photographing and collecting specimens for Uni.
They will look at you and smile as they wonder what mycology is.

... unless they're cops. Then they won't be smiling. Or wondering what mycology is ... but what that shit in the brown bag in your hands is.

Yeah if i see cops im running. I shouldn't have too as i see no issue with picking something from the ground and consuming it as a consenting adult, but regardless of that, im not hanging around.

yeah nice finds notorious, they look more like the ones i usually find that are small and closed up.
P.S. whoever said that they only find shrooms in thin bits of mulch i agree, i've only seen them out of fairly thick beds a couple of times, most of the time its a light sprinkling of chips.
I wonder whether they only fruit when they think they're running out of food...

Most certainly Stropharia A's. I recall reading one of those babies can cause a case of the shits like you've never known (don't think they cause irreverisble liver damage, I think that's Gallerina). Don't know the validity of this info, but who is willing to test the theory? Not me, for sure. I have enough trouble with dodgy kebabs.
Yeah, pigs = good bullshit story or running.
One time I noticed a massive patch of subs growing on a round about during the day. The street was busy so I decided to return at night, in the rain, with a torch, and pick the patch. Fucken jacks rolled by as I just got to the patch. I was bent over with the torch pointing at the ground. They asked what I was doing and I was like, "Uuuuugh, ummmm, I chased my dog through here earlier in the day and, uuuuugh, I dropped my keys." They must have been in a hurry cause they looked at me like I was retarded and decided I was less important than wherever they had to be at the moment.

quick thinking ngaloyd i wonder if you told the cops you were looking for subs whether they'd do anything. I mean if you have none on you could they arrest you for possession? i don't think so, unless they argue that you're being in the area in exclusion of other people counted as 'possession' in the same way that a dealer standing over a hidden stash of drugs is held to be in possession.
Anyway they'd probably search you at least which would suck.
