If a cigarette is cheaper, it almost always is more toxic as a result of that - the cigarette being less processed and corners having been cut in production.

If any group prefers a cheaper brand cigarette, they almost by definition will get a more harmful cigarette.

I don't think there's a racist conspiracy to distribute an unhealthier cigarette, I rather think there is a marketing strategy to distribute a more affordable cigarette to lower income areas. There may be some racist thought behind that but it's a marketing strategy rather than a poisoning scheme.

If one is to smoke, I'd suggest to not smoke cigarettes at all, but instead buy a high quality rolling tobacco with a higher nicotine content, and roll correspondingly thinner cigarettes from it. What matters more than brands (well American brands, you wouldn't want to smoke Bahmans or shit like that) is the number of grams you smoke per day. A 0.25gr cigarette of a quality rolling tobacco can provide as much or more smoking satisfaction than a 0.75-1gr bought cigarette, and this at 1/3 or 1/4 of the number of grams inhaled per day. The satisfaction for a large part is in the nicotine, so to get your 500 micrograms you're better off smoking a 0.25gr cigarette for it than a 0.75-1gr cigarette.
