Interesting Dream Message to Contemplate

I had a dream where I was looking at me computer screen and a message popped up on it. It read,

"Things don't happen to you, they happen through you."

Then I woke up.

My daughter and I played around with some possible meanings. I was curious to hear any possible interpretations you all could come up with for that.

I sort of see it as having to do with keeping one from being in the ego mind and seeing ourselves more as vehicles for the ONE spirit. I dunno. Open to other interpretations.

Thanks! :cool: That put a different spin on it. Its as if the events themselves are just energy in motion and how our sensory preceptors receive the moving energy determines how it will be experienced by us.

That lead me to looking at the use of the word "through". When you experience an event as being something that happens to you, it stops at you and puts a finality of sorts on it as you being the end of the movement. I wonder if thats why when some people loose a job or partner, they react as if its the "end" of "their" world.

When you look at events as energy moving through you, there is an ongoing continuity to the flow, that moves past and beyond you as well. I would think from that perceptive, no event would seem as "life ending" in the dramatical sense.

In other words, we aren't really ever the target of anything. Rather, we are just mediums for aims to express or reveal themselves through. Neat to see all coming at us as having a target somewhere through and beyond us. Does take the personalisation "ego" out of event experiences.

Oh, and that perspective helps to see some futility in putting up resistance to what can and will move through us and past us if we let it. Perhaps, it the idea of things happening to us, that can make us put up resistance and allow for the energy to get stuck in us. Life would be easier if we could just allow it to move on through and be on its way quicker.

Thanks for adding MAIA. Now I am seeing applications to that message for smoothing life out even more.

What about:

Things happen.
You may be on the receiving action of an event, but then you will act as a result of that and create another event. The action passes through you and influences you, but while you hold it you can influence it before passing it on.

If your boss is angry with you and you think, "Why does this happen TO me?" you'll probably get depressed and you go home in a foul mood, ruining not only your day but your familiy's day too, which they will pass on the next day on somebody else.

If you understand that this action is part of something that has been happening for a while then while you hold it, you can alter it. So instead of getting into a foul mood, you realize that you hold a bad action, and you decide to turn it into something positive and perhaps take the whole family out to dinner.

The message says, that you're not a victim of the world, but an active participant in it.

Of course its true. We (our conciousness) is the medium through which god expresses his creation... something like that. We are the prisms that divide gods uniform white light into observable perceptions... we are the windows through which the universe views itself... we are the MIRRORS through which god sees himself... somewhere between all those metaphors may be some meaning.

I just got back from the Turks and Caicos islands and something weird and wonderful changed or shifted in me that is related to that message. Can't quite put the "feeling" of understanding it into words. It clicked when I read Blue write in another post-
U- Topia= No place.

Something happening to you is experienced as being a fixed event with a fixed objective value.

When something happens through you, you as the medium can interpret its meaning and give its meaning to you, whatever you want to make of both.

That's where so much of our power and magic is, in our being mediums with the the freedom to choose what we make of anything. There is no such thing as "place" in the fixed sense. It's all made up through applied meaning. Understanding and applying that knowing-that we do the applying of meaning to what happens to us and what it will mean to us as it passes through us is europhic.  Meaning isn't fixed and neither is any "point of self reference or being place" because of that. Being in a no place that can be any place through applied meaning is utopia :yesnod:
