You have flaws... deal with it.
    #343083 -

It is not possible for a human to not have internal contradictions.

Applying a method of doubt of some sort can make one aware of these contradictions. But it is not possible to rid oneself completely (at any one moment in time) of all contradictions.

I feel so strongly about this position that I will not defend it any further in this post.

Hmm, interesting, that sounds about right to me, though *I'd* still like to hear someone with a contradicting viewpoint.
maybe that's just me though.

That's a neat theory, I like it. I also thought about how we alter matter in our mind through electric impulses. It's really hard to explain and it makes a lot more sense to me when I'm thinking it in my head. I have a hard time actually explaining it but here it goes...... let me start out by an example, of how different atoms that are mixed together create certain chemical reactions that can be formulated through mathematics, if you think about it, everything must have a mathematical equation, even the electrical impulses in our head.. .if those impulses in our brain react to different situations in our life, wouldn't everything be a mathematical equation? In a way we have no way to decide what we do b/c its already mapped out in an equation. We think that we can actually change our thoughts, but can we? when i think about this sometimes it makes so much sense... its kind of weird b/c it makes me want to just lay on the ground and never get up b/c i didnt have a decision in the first place.. hehe.. oh well. i don't know if you people will get what i tried to say but i tried ... =) peace

I disagree. Actually I don't. I do, but not really.

Pulse-
You basically take the side of determinism, right? That everything we do or think is dependent on our relation with reality that we can't break from it and have true "free will".

This free will vs. determinism argument is a major philosophical problem that is often misunderstood. It's a false dilemma though. It all depends on our perspective of reality. The determinist approach is somewhat pessimistic at times and provides relief at other times. The same is true for the free will approach. If this is all taken into a Taoist perspective, then free will and determinism really have no significance at all. Cycles and patterns too complex for the human mind to understand... however, understanding how these patterns flow is quite possible. This is more important than anything. Knowing how things work rather than how things are is the best approach. It can only be gained through experiences as concepts can only take one so far. The practical is what we're all looking for anyways.

That's it for now.

perfection is a standard of being, not of quality.
to be perfect, one need only be.
to be, one needs to be self-contradictory, for in this reality, an inperfect-quality simply couldnot exist and therefore would not meet the standard of perfection. therefore. we are all perfect, yet no one is perfect, only as one are we perfect, and as the one, we are god, the perfect being. need to see god to beleive in him? look at your hands, those are gods hands.... god is now reading this post. when he stops, it will ceace to exist like a tree falling in an vacant forest.

madness never slows down, it only piles up.

Unless you are on of the "as-is"ers and figure that everything is perfect as it is, due to the laws of the Universe being unbreakable. then these "flaws" are just perceived...

What contradictions are you talking about?

I believe contradictions are mostly forced upon us by our society which dictaties to us what is right and wrong. Contradictions arise when the way you are doesn't agree with the views of society, and so a contradiction arises 'I should be this, but I'm not'. Do you believe that a human who existed with a utopian society could exist without contradictions?

How about someone who has found true enlightenment? Surely you cannot have this if contradictions exist.

Who said anything about perfection?

The enlightened are only aware of their inherent contradictions.

Well think about it like this. Since we were born, our whole life has been a contradiction in one way or another (i.e. good vs. evil, male vs. female, light vs. dark, sweet vs. sour, everything that exists has a contradiction). You must go beyond your attachment of words and break a barrier of new thinking. It is difficult to do this but you will find when ridding yourself of attachments (to words, people, objects, anything in life) you will balance the internal and external contradictions that plague you. How can you do this? Well it isn?t very simple. I suggest, if you are interested on following up on this, to maybe read some texts on Zen Buddhism to expand your mind. And I do believe it is possible to rid oneself of contradictions, but not in the society we live in. Our whole culture is filled with a total sense of corruption that is only perpetuated by the media. Noise pollution, visual pollution, all these sensory pollution?s brainwash the majority of the world. If you can?t see it then open up your eyes.

Tell me what you think.

I only typed in "flaws" to catch your attention. They aren't flaws in the typical sense though.

Enlightenment is not as easy as just doing nothing. Look around and you'll see that not everyone is as open-minded as they should be.

One can only rid oneself of contradictions by rejecting the concept of dualism. But this is only a temporary solution. If we could stay in that transcendental mode forever, there would be no need for living. So life brings contradiction. We humans are alive, therefore...

Grammar.....
