Astral Projection Question

Lately I have been having troubles remembering my dreams and with my projections and I can't figure the problem out, about a month ago I moved back to my home town for the summer and got a new job, I've had troubles ever since. I guess I've been alittle stressed lately and smoked more weed than usual, anyone know anything that could help?
Can drugs keep you tied to the physical world?

You would be better off without drugs and astral projections at the same time. You have to meditate beforehands to be completely relaxed. I have tried lots of times, I have came close to sucess but it never really happened. The closest I came to get out of my body was when I was completely relaxed, I felt like my whole body was asleep but my mind was wide awake. after about 20 minutes or so, I began to feel deep vibrations in my back so I became out of focus and they stopped. it's very hard to stay focused at this point

MrTechnoShaman is right. If you want success with astral projection, you probably shouldn't be using drugs. Some would argue that certain psychedelics would help but pot just fogs your concentration. I find that when I quit pot for a while, I have better dream recall. Although I have tried many times, I haven't yet been able to have an OBE.

well thanks, I need to cut back token for awhile I guess.
I haven't traveled much just a few experiences but they were close together and I thought I had a good job down.

Stop smoking weed for 2 weeks. Every other day ,drink tea made from Calea Zacatechichi an hour before you go to bed, and smoke a joint of calea leaves just before going to sleep. The tea will taste like absoloute shit, but it should help.

It's a tea made from a plant called Calea Zacatechichi. It's got quite a long history of shamaninc use to induce lucid dreaming. You should be able to find out more information at the lycaeum.

You can buy it quite easilly over the net from a number of palces. I found herbal shaman have it in their bulk herbs section but they call it 'dream herb'. Most other entheogen suppliers should also stock it (Also look for 'Aztec dream herb' as I've seen it sold as this before).

It has been reported that taking 5-htp before going to sleep can also increase your dream recall. You may want to try that in combination with calea for maximun effectiveness.

Well its been shown that marijuana affects the memory so your dream recollation problems probably lie there.  Drugs always fuck with astral projection, it changes your normal mental processes and it makes it difficult for you to control your own thoughts and even more difficult to focus on a task like astral travel.  I've accomplished active astral travel only a few times and like technoshaman I experienced an extreme vibration in my body, the first time it freaked me to the point that I thought I was dying and I abandoned the effort the other couple of times I merely got to walk around my room ( and that took all night).  I've almost mastered the art of inactive astral projection, I just take a mid-day nap when my mind is extradorinarily active but my body is a little drowsy, I just set my mind to the task at hand and go to sleep, I never feel like I even go to sleep, my perception just changes and it gets difficult to see and hear at the same time(I know my surroundings and where everything is but I  can't see it) I've gone the distance with this one and tried to read a friends diary, but to my dissapointment I discovered that you can't turn pages while outside of your body.

I would say lay off the bud and meditate to releive stress and to help you adjust to your new surroundings.  Try the "just sit" technique.  Do nothing but sit, concentrate on sitting.  Its mind blowing.

Yeah I have experienced the vibrations a few times also, they really scared the shit out of me, I have never traveled the Astral Plane but I have like you taken mid-day naps and traveled around rooms and close places, lately I have been more aware you could say and things are starting to come back to me, I've even had a few good dreams since posting this thread, Thanks everyone hopefully soon I will back up to par.

Hi Dragoon,
I too have had a hard time Astral Projectiong. I found that as a child, I was doing it all the time, sometimes several times a weeke. Now. as an adult, my Adult brain says No, that was all kids stuff' and as a result, I am only able to Ap when I am utterly exhausted, or by chance.
I dont know of any technique that can help, for I feel i have tried them all. But I do know smoking grass/doing drugs is not the way to go. It just hiders your subconcious, and in most cases wont let your 'Leave'
try the tea, that souds like a good idea. I take 5-HTP, and although it does relax me, it has never induced AP. If you do achieve AP ,let us know. Good luck.

Weed makes your limbic area of the brain difficult to focus on concentration. Afterall, weed stones you.
