I guess it just comes down to whether or not you can control where you direct your awareness and how much... any ideas on how to go about this? I hope this helps. hehe.

of control... I've gotten to the point where I realized I have
little if any control over my thoughts...
u seem quite sure of yourself (don't take this in a bad way - it's
actually a compliment :smile: ). I used to be that way too... what
I don't get is that do u really feel "in control" when you're
on the shrooms ? I know I didn't...and still don't...
what makes u think u can control your mind ? can u stop it ?
can u stop thinking about white elephants ?

my 2 cents:

I dont have any book knowledge about meditation or astral projection. I was under the impression that doing whatever you wanted in that state "sword fighting or flying" was lucid dreaming? are these terms interchangable?

When i was a kid i was in karate lessons, my parents yanked me out of there as soon as they learned that we were meditating. These days I have been trying to "meditate," but the only thing i know to do is sit, relax fix my eyes on one point. I am findign it EXTREMELY difficult to keep my eyes locked at any one thing. They want to jump around and criss-cross the point to get all angles or something. Keeping my eyes locked at one point is nearly impossible, but when I am able to keep them there for a "long" time (a minute or two) my eyes go through many changes. (the lighting in the room dims/gets brighter, focus is sharper, I can take in more of my peripheral vision that what is just right in front of me)

I would like to learn more about astral projection. Can you provide information or a link to information? To be able to OBE somewhere, and then go there in this body and find that what I experience holds weight in this reality FASCINATES me.

mine would stop... I have OBEs standing at the checkout counter :frown:
please people realize that these are mind games that can
run away and get the better of you...u don't want to end up
in the nutt hut...trust me...

well ok, i can appreciate that. I feel the same way when I am tripping sometimes.

But, the reason i started psychedelics was to experience new flavours. I still have that urge, and I think (authentic, that is to say, verifiable) OBEs would be a different flavour indeed.

You've also had a pretty bad trip.Life changing, if I remember correctly?

Was that the only time you've ever tripped?

I wonder if these types of experiences are related to tripping?

If I seem sure, I'm sorry, because I can't be, as I don't have any real experience in this.

However, it just seems that there are times that you wouldn't want to let go of control, and that the ability to decide if you are going to keep control or not is an important one. To some guru in India or something, letting go of all control wouldn't matter, because they are surrounded by followers who will provide for his necessities...

I really haven't done mushrooms enough to be able to say if I could have control or not. Well, at least for my last trip, it was sort of like jumping right in, I was in unfamiliar waters..

I guess it comes down to strength of mind, like the ability to direct your focus or whatever. I really don't know how one could go about gaining this ability if they already didn't have it somewhat in them... does anyone know any good sources of information on something like this?

I tried it on a straight tequila night. Not sure if it worked, but the room sure was spinning.
