I recently have entered these higher states of consciousness through meditation, the experience is very similar to mushrooms ( thought processing, visuals ). Anyone else tried this? your thoughts and feeling on the subject? <+>

I have been very sucessful in meditating the past few nights... I enter these states where I start feeling tingly and time slows down. Once I get there, I think about nothing, because theres nothing to think about (the Tao describes it well). I havn't seriously attempted astral projection but I've had out of body experiences. Sometimes I freak out and fly back to my body and wake with a choking feeling. Also some nights I will wake up with parts of my body on fire and/or paralyzed with a vibrating numb feeling.

higher states of consciousness A bunch of bullshit man. Just know that I am god and you should send me your stash as an offering. the Tao describes it well Good thing you cited, as sometimes we get screwed into describing it ourselves (whew!). *nudge nudge* *hard elbow* This is just more sophist talk. Pseudospiritual babble. "How dare you! You can't deny my subjective experience!" Yes I can. You're lying to someone, unless what you wrote is supposed to be taken as some kind of a metaphor.

recently while on a binge of on-off sleeping, late in the morning my mind peaked in a sort of lucid dreaming: i rolled over, hit the play button (glassmasters, Philip glass disc one, ... umm, his music is a trip in itself--"opera" singing analogue modulation and rythmic "minimalist" beats, he hung with ginsberg and the like...) and rolled back over. For a few moments my mind sort of wandered, but then the cracking of the paper on table adjacent cut into my ears as the sound of a body ripped into halfs, my eyes began to trip out, i fell into a paralysis for a couple minutes during which the following happened: the sound became so delusioned in my mind I thought "shit! this is it!" (more or less, and btw, i am okay with death and even non-existence if that is on the other end of the death's blackhole...) and began to think i would die in a minute (quasi real thoughts) and i began choking on my own inability to function, for half a minute... i regained control, but the expirence was a weird one (tapered visuals, and the like; lacked the certain feeling-charastic of "mesh" (know what i mean?) that shrooms brings on though): makes me want to get into astral projection :P (not so much meditation, but projection, i have other things to do besides exist as/is/in nirvana, any of you know any good links on astral projection? it was more uncontrolled and i let it go--more because i embrace, cherish and love those moments when myself is twisted beyond my control :P , any good links on control for the sort of ability for astral projection?
