what is the actual reason

for the pyramid with the eye on the back of the one dollar bill?? i know all the conspiracy kids think its illuminati shit...is there an actual reason, i cant seem to find a straight answer online.

The eye is an ancient symbol for divinity.. the "all-seeing-eye" or God.. The purpose of the symbol is similar to the motto "In God We Trust" on our money as well.

it is indeed the all seeing eye.

A pyramid is a perfect metaphor for the american way of living. The wealth and power is funneld to the top, with smaller and smaller groups of people controlling the masses below.

At the top of the pryamid is the eye. It reminds every american citizen that big brother is watching. This is especially poignant now that every monetary transaction can be tracked. If you use our currency, we own you.

Some guy on venice beach tried to explain 'the real meaning' of the pyramid. It was hilarious. I cant even remember it started with "whats the first thing you think of when you see a pyramid? Egypt! thats where the jews came from!"

I've only heard that it ties to illuminati stuff dating back to ancient egypt.

Who knows? I too wonder why the eye of horus and an egyptian pyramid is on U.S. currency.

Did you see that trick people were doing with folding a twenty dollar bill to show a picture of the twin towers on fire with billowing smoke from the impact zones? Thats just too wild!

Triangles are the shape most used in artwork that is inspired by the Bible. The three points represent the father, the son, and the holy ghost. Pyramids are also the most stable structure.

Below is the responce to this question from the U.S. Department of Treasury, taken from their web-site;

The eye and the pyramid shown on the reverse side of the one-dollar bill are in the Great Seal of the United States. The Great Seal was first used on the reverse of the one-dollar Federal Reserve note in 1935. The Department of State is the official keeper of the Seal. They believe that the most accurate explanation of a pyramid on the Great Seal is that it symbolizes strength and durability. The unfinished pyramid means that the United States will always grow, improve and build. In addition, the "All-Seeing Eye" located above the pyramid suggests the importance of divine guidance in favor of the American cause. The inscription ANNUIT COEPTIS translates as "He (God) has favored our undertakings," and refers to the many instances of Divine Providence during our Government's formation. In addition, the inscription NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM translates as "A new order of the ages," and signifies a new American era.

far as my understanding, Novus Ordo Seclorum translates to "New World Order"

The pyramid with the eye over it was adopted by the Freemasons some 120 years ago, which is supposed to symbolize their power, and the all-seeing-eye, as explained previous, is there to remind you that Big Brother is watching.

The attitude that the American Way is God's Way is one deeply ingrained in American culture. That's some seriously twisted egomania, I think. It is not difficult to see it's results.

Yes, It makes me ill.  I detest those bumberstickers with the flag and all that "God bless America" crap.

I quit pledging allegiance to the flag when I was 12. Never again.

I proudly display my rainbow flag when other people have their stars and stripes, and now I am looking for one with the planet earth on it. :heart:

The origin of the All Seeing Eye dates back to the ancient mystery schools of Egypt. The traditions and teachings of those mystery schools have been passed along through time by different secret societies, including the modern day Freemasons. Most of the 'founding fathers' as well as many American leaders were Freemasons and/or members of other secret societies, and adopted this symbol as a seal for the US. The All Seeing Eye became a mainstream symbol from the teachings of secret societies and is supposed to represent the US as a 'nation under God' -- that is, under the watchful eye of God.

The US Department of the Treasury was established in 1789, almost 100 years before your Freemason thing.

Joseph Campbell explained his understanding of the great seal in the book 'The Inner Reaches of Outer Space'. I can't remember everything he said but his translation was a bit more positive than 'big brother is watching'. It was something more along the lines of 'mankind has come of age and is creating now according to reason'.
